This is an opportunity for the Trade Union of Vietnam Maritime Corporation ( VIMC ) to express its deep gratitude to the officers and crew members – the workers who are working day and night at sea, directly operating the fleet, contributing to maintaining logistics operations, and ensuring the smooth operation of global maritime transport and trade.
Speaking at the visit, the General Corporation's Trade Union leader emphasized that the seafaring profession is a unique one with many difficulties, pressures, and risks. Not only do officers and crew members frequently face rough seas, harsh weather conditions, and high work intensity, but they also have to accept the unique characteristic of being away from their families for long periods, sacrificing many personal benefits to fulfill their duties.
Despite working in a challenging environment, the officers and crew of the Corporation have consistently demonstrated unwavering resolve, discipline, professionalism, and a high sense of responsibility, ensuring safe and efficient voyages, making a significant contribution to the business performance of the enterprise and the overall development of the Vietnam Maritime Corporation.
During the program, the leaders of the Corporation's Trade Union directly met with and listened to the concerns, aspirations, and suggestions of officers and crew members regarding working conditions, welfare benefits, and material and spiritual well-being. For issues within their authority, the delegation discussed and proposed timely solutions; at the same time, they noted suggestions requiring further research and coordination with relevant departments and the enterprise to find long-term, sustainable solutions.
The General Corporation's Trade Union leadership affirmed that, under all circumstances, the General Corporation's Trade Union will always stand alongside the workers, especially the officers and crew members; continue to effectively fulfill its role in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the workers; and ensure that policies, benefits, and welfare are implemented promptly, practically, and effectively.
In addition, the General Corporation's Trade Union leadership also hopes that each officer and crew member will continuously promote the spirit of innovation and creativity, proactively learn, improve their professional skills, foreign language proficiency, and adaptability to the increasingly high demands of the maritime transport industry in the context of digital transformation, green transformation, and international integration.
The leaders also conveyed to the officers and crew members the views of the Party Committee, Board of Directors, and Executive Board of Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC) on building and implementing corporate culture throughout the VIMC system.
Specifically, for the Maritime Transport sector, the aspiration is to build a model of a VIMC culturally-minded ship with a crew that is disciplined, professional, civilized, and compassionate.
Each officer and crew member is a "VIMC cultural ambassador" on each ship, working together to build a civilized, united, and professional working environment.
This not only contributes to building a positive image of VIMC seafarers, but also serves as an important foundation for enhancing the reputation, brand, and competitiveness of the enterprise in the domestic and international maritime transport market.
