The gaming industry faces challenges in applying AI.

Applying artificial intelligence (AI) to shift strategies, focus on quality, and optimize revenue will contribute to the remarkable growth of app and video game publishers in Vietnam.

This was presented by a Google representative at the "Think Apps: Shaping the Future with Google AI" event recently held in Vietnam, which brought together over 350 app developers and game creators from the country and the region.

Vietnam's video game and app industry continues to maintain its impressive growth position, ranking 4th globally for the past two years. This ranking is confirmed by its exceptional growth rate, with a 34% increase in total app downloads, surpassing 5.6 billion downloads. Vietnam also holds the title of " World's Fastest Growing App Market," with impressive download growth of 40% annually for the past five years. This trend continued in 2023, soaring to over 1.1 billion downloads, equivalent to 10,708 "Made in Vietnam" apps downloaded every minute. However, Google notes that Vietnam's game and app industry faces several challenges in integrating AI, including a shortage of AI experts and high-quality training programs. Limitations include limited access to mentorship and guidance from leading AI experts, obstacles in evaluating and developing AI-powered products, and a lack of infrastructure for testing and verifying AI-related products.

To support this, Google has launched a comprehensive suite of Google AI solutions, from AI tools to hands-on training programs, helping developers drive innovation and focus on the advantages that AI can offer. “Through the latest AI technology and comprehensive support programs, we aim to empower local developers to build more high-quality applications, reach a global audience, and achieve sustainable business growth,” shared Emily Nguyen, Director of Gaming and Apps Business for Vietnam, Google Asia Pacific .
