"Race" to inaugurate Long Thanh Airport

The Prime Minister has requested that the first phase of Long Thanh International Airport be inaugurated on December 19, 2025. To complete the above goal, for Component 3 Project, construction of essential works in the airport, contractors are mobilizing all human resources and equipment to speed up construction progress.

According to the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the project investor, to serve the construction of 12 packages, contractors are mobilizing nearly 14,000 experts, engineers, workers and more than 3,000 construction equipment, organizing hundreds of construction teams to speed up progress with the basic goal of completing the project before December 19, 2025. With the high determination of contractors, the main packages of Component 3 Project, Long Thanh Airport Project are all closely following the set schedule.

With package 4.7, aircraft parking, according to ACV, the items to be completed before December 19, 2025 include the entire structure of the aircraft parking lot and passenger terminal; basement for ground service equipment; drainage system; parking area lighting system, taxiways and aircraft parking lighting system.

Meanwhile, with package 4.8, internal port traffic and technical infrastructure, currently, priority tunnels have been basically completed to deploy equipment installation for water supply, drainage, electricity, ICT systems... At the same time, the main route items connecting the passenger terminal, the service route to the functional area serving phase 1 exploitation, the station, and power supply will be completed before December 19, 2025.

With package 5.10, the construction of the passenger terminal, the most important package of the project, the construction and architecture part will meet the basic target of completion before December 19, 2025. Particularly, the construction items of the MEPF system (electricity, water, ventilation, fire prevention and fighting); ICT and TE (information technology, terminal equipment) are being accelerated.

In particular, the contractor consortium will complete the construction of cable pulling and power connection, equipment installation for medium voltage electrical cabinets, low voltage electrical cabinets, electrical busbars, light electrical cable installation (SCS system), fire alarm installation (FAS system), air duct system, water supply and drainage... before December 19, 2025. The installation of pipeline system, fire pump system, fire fighting system will also be completed before the project inauguration.

Regarding the construction and installation of equipment for the passenger terminal, the installation of mechanical equipment for the baggage handling system (BHS); checked baggage screening systems (HBS), aircraft runways (VDGS), escalators, pedestrian stairs (ES/MW), elevators (EL) ... is expected to be completed in December 2025. Along with that, 28/64 passenger ramps of Long Thanh Airport terminal will be completed before December 19, 2025.

With the Component 2 Project - works serving air traffic management, Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), the project investor, launched a 20-day competition to complete the project on schedule, ensuring readiness for technical flights and completing the items by December 19, 2025 in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction. "The 20-day competition is the "final acceleration" to bring the project to the finish line as committed" - said Mr. Le Hoang Minh, Chairman of the Board of Members of VATM.

Highways and beltways "sprint" for technical traffic opening

Along with the Long Thanh Airport Project, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway and Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City projects are also national key projects, being implemented in the province with the goal of being technically open to traffic before December 19, 2025.

According to the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, for Component 1 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project, contractors are deploying 30 construction teams with a total of more than 250 motorbikes, equipment and nearly 500 workers to construct the project. The total construction output of the entire project has currently reached nearly 60% of the value compared to the signed contract.

Regarding the Component 3 Project of the Ring Road 3 Project - Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Linh, Deputy Director of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, said: The total value of the packages reached more than 1.1 trillion VND, equivalent to more than 60% of the signed contract value. Contractors are focusing on maximum human resources and equipment, speeding up the construction progress to complete the technical traffic opening of the project before December 19, 2025 as required by the Prime Minister.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Liem, technical officer of Construction Joint Stock Company 368, the unit participating in the construction of package No. 32, Project Component 3, said: With the construction items, the unit has completed about 80% of the volume. The contractor is focusing on the construction of crushed stone mix for the upcoming asphalt concrete construction. "To ensure the committed progress, the contractor has mobilized additional vehicles, machines, equipment and personnel to organize the construction in "3 shifts, 4 teams" to be able to open the technical traffic before December 19, 2025" - Mr. Nguyen Trong Liem said.

In addition to key national projects, many other projects in the province such as: Bien Hoa City Central Road Construction Project; Dong Nai River Road; Upgrading and Expanding Provincial Road 25B are striving to complete technical traffic and inaugurate in December 2025.
