Construction on major projects is accelerating.

A series of key projects in Dong Nai province, scheduled for inauguration and technical opening in December 2025, are entering a peak phase of "racing against time" to meet their targets.

"Racing against time" to inaugurate Long Thanh Airport.

The Prime Minister has mandated that Phase 1 of Long Thanh International Airport be inaugurated on December 19, 2025. To achieve this goal, for Component Project 3, which involves the construction of essential airport facilities, contractors are mobilizing all available human resources and equipment to accelerate construction progress.

According to the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the project's investor, to serve the construction of the 12 contract packages, contractors are mobilizing nearly 14,000 experts, engineers, and workers, along with more than 3,000 pieces of construction equipment, and organizing hundreds of construction teams to accelerate progress with the basic goal of completing the project before December 19, 2025. With the high determination of the contractors, the main contract packages of Component 3 of the Long Thanh Airport Project are all closely adhering to the set schedule.

According to ACV, for package 4.7, the aircraft parking area will be completed before December 19, 2025, including the entire structure of the passenger terminal's aircraft parking area; the underground space for ground service equipment; the drainage system; the lighting system for the parking area and taxiways; and the aircraft parking area lighting system.

Meanwhile, with package 4.8, port transportation and technical infrastructure, the priority tunnel routes have been basically completed to allow for the installation of equipment for water supply, drainage, electricity, ICT systems, etc. At the same time, the main arterial road connecting the passenger terminal, the service road to the functional area serving phase 1 operations, the substation, and the power supply will be completed before December 19, 2025.

With Package 5.10, the construction of the passenger terminal, the most important package of the project, the construction and architecture will meet the basic completion target before December 19, 2025. Specifically, the construction of the MEPF system (electricity, water, ventilation, fire protection); ICT and TE (information technology, terminal equipment) is being accelerated.

Specifically, the consortium of contractors will complete the cable laying and power supply connection work, equipment installation for medium-voltage and low-voltage switchgear systems, busbars, installation of light-duty cables (SCS system), installation of fire detectors (FAS system), ventilation ducts, water supply and drainage systems, etc., before December 19, 2025. The installation of piping systems, fire pumps, and fire extinguishing systems will also be completed before the project's inauguration.

Regarding the construction and installation of equipment for the passenger terminal, the installation of mechanical equipment for the baggage handling system (BHS); the baggage screening systems (HBS), aircraft docking stations (VDGS), escalators, walkways (ES/MW), elevators (EL), etc., is expected to be completed by December 2025. In addition, 28 out of 64 passenger boarding bridges at Long Thanh Airport terminal will be completed before December 19, 2025.

For Component Project 2 - air traffic control facilities, the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), the project's investor, launched a 20-day emulation campaign to complete the project on schedule, ensuring readiness for technical flights and completion of all items by December 19, 2025, as directed by the Prime Minister. "The 20-day emulation campaign is the 'final acceleration' to bring the project to completion as committed," said Mr. Le Hoang Minh, Chairman of the VATM Board of Members.

Highways and ring roads are racing against time for technical opening to traffic.

Along with the Long Thanh Airport Project, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway and the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 are also key national projects being implemented in the province, aiming for technical completion and opening to traffic before December 19, 2025.

According to the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board, for Component 1 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project, contractors are deploying 30 construction teams with a total of more than 250 vehicles and equipment and nearly 500 workers to complete the project. The total construction output for the entire project currently reaches nearly 60% of the value of the signed contract.

Regarding Component 3 of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 Project, Mr. Nguyen Linh, Deputy Director of the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board, stated that the total value of completed contract packages has reached over 1.1 trillion VND, equivalent to more than 60% of the signed contract value. Contractors are focusing maximum manpower and equipment to accelerate construction progress and complete the project's technical opening to traffic before December 19, 2025, as required by the Prime Minister.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Liem, a technical officer of Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company 368, the unit participating in the construction of package 32, Component Project 3, said: "For the items we are involved in, we have completed about 80% of the work. The contractor is currently focusing on laying the crushed stone base in preparation for the asphalt concrete paving. To ensure the committed progress, the contractor has mobilized additional vehicles, machinery, equipment, and personnel to organize construction in '3 shifts, 4 teams' to ensure the road is open for technical traffic before December 19, 2025," Mr. Nguyen Trong Liem stated.

In addition to key national projects, many other projects in the province, such as the construction of the central arterial road in Bien Hoa city; the Dong Nai riverside road; and the upgrading and expansion of provincial road 25B, are striving to complete technical traffic opening and inauguration in December 2025.
