Phuc Long Hydropower Joint Stock Company announces flood release.

In order to proactively prevent and mitigate flood damage and minimize losses of life and property, Phuc Long Hydropower Joint Stock Company has issued Notice No. 11/2025/TBXL-PL to relevant agencies and units regarding the flood release from Phuc Long hydropower reservoir.

This notice is sent to the following agencies and units: Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee; Lao Cai Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue; Lao Cai Provincial Department of Industry and Trade; Lao Cai Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment; Lao Cai Provincial Meteorological and Hydrological Center; Lao Cai Radio and Television Station; Northern Cement Trading Joint Stock Company; Thac Ba Hydropower Joint Stock Company; People's Committees of the communes of Bao Yen, Xuan Hoa, Phuc Khanh, Tan Linh, and Khanh Hoa.

According to the announcement, the water inflow into the Phuc Long hydropower reservoir is expected to reach approximately 350-900 ^m³ /s in the near future. Therefore, to ensure the safety of the reservoir, dam, and structures, and to ensure the safety of the downstream area of ​​the hydropower dam, Phuc Long Hydropower Joint Stock Company plans to release floodwaters from the Phuc Long hydropower reservoir and will notify the relevant agencies and units accordingly:

1. Expected start time: 10:30 AM on September 9, 2025.

2. Discharge flow through power generation: 320 ( ^m³ /s).

3. Discharge rate over spillway: ~30 - 580 ( ^m³ /s) and may increase or decrease as needed.

4. Total discharge flow downstream: ~350 - 900 ( ^m³ /s) and may increase or decrease depending on actual conditions.

5. Downstream water level: projected from +69.5 and may change depending on the actual discharge flow and must be regulated accordingly.

When there is a change in discharge flow, the Company will notify the relevant agencies and units as required.
