At the meeting, Comrade Bui Thanh Nhan commended the efforts of the enterprise and the Pouyuen Vietnam Trade Union in nearly 30 years of operation, especially in caring for the material and spiritual lives of the workers – the core workforce of the largest enterprise in Ho Chi Minh City.

The comrade suggested that the grassroots trade union continue to build on the achievements, innovate its activities, promote the "Excellent Worker - Creative Worker" movement, encourage technical innovation initiatives, improve productivity and production efficiency, and contribute to building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations.

The delegation also visited the company's canteen and the Little Sun Kindergarten (funded by the company to serve the children of its workers), inquiring about the lives and working conditions of the workers, as well as the activities of the local trade union.

According to Mr. Cu Phat Nghiep, Chairman of the Trade Union of Pouyuen Vietnam Company, the company currently employs 40,756 workers across 6 sports shoe manufacturing plants, with 99.5% being union members. The average monthly income for workers is over 10 million VND. The company provides 10 canteens, 327 shuttle buses to transport workers from neighboring provinces, 20 free after-hours vocational training classes, and numerous welfare policies such as support for workers raising young children, gold gifts for long-term employees, free bus tickets to return home for Tet (Lunar New Year), and three annual gift-giving events.

The company has also allocated over 16,000 square meters of land for union activities, including the construction of offices, a meeting hall, sports fields, a mini-supermarket, and a canteen to serve workers, demonstrating practical cooperation between the enterprise and the trade union in building a safe, civilized, and sustainable working environment.

Despite having a stable working environment, Pouyuen Vietnam is currently facing difficulties in recruiting workers, especially during the peak production period at the end of the year when orders increase sharply. Mr. Nghiep suggested that the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Union support the connection with labor sources and also proposed adjusting the union fee to match the actual income of workers.
