Thanks to the efforts of investors and local authorities, after nearly 7 months of construction, the inauguration ceremony of the VinFast Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Plant officially took place on June 29th with the participation of central and local leaders. This is VinFast's second automobile manufacturing plant to become operational.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vingroup, stated: “The factory has a main workshop system including body welding, painting, assembly, and many modern auxiliary areas. The production line is highly automated and operates according to strict international standards for quality management, environmental management, and global automotive industry standards. In the initial phase, the factory has a designed capacity of approximately 200,000 vehicles per year, equivalent to an average production rate of 35 vehicles per hour.”
Beyond directly benefiting from the automotive manufacturing industry, the factory's operation also creates opportunities for supporting businesses, from component and material suppliers to logistics services, to connect into the supply chain, creating a synchronously developing industrial ecosystem. The presence of major investors like Vingroup also provides a foundation for the locality to continue attracting new investment waves.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang – Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vingroup Group, said: “By building a supporting industrial cluster right within the factory premises, attracting domestic businesses to participate in the supply chain, VinFast Ha Tinh also contributes to realizing the goal of localizing over 80% by 2026 for VinFast.”

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the VinFast Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Plant, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai affirmed: “The plant's operation marks an important turning point for Ha Tinh in the process of realizing the orientation of green growth and sustainable development according to the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Along with other key projects invested by Vingroup, the operation of the Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Plant will make a significant contribution to budget revenue, create jobs, and improve the lives of the people of the province. At the same time, it will create new momentum for Ha Tinh to continue to rise, becoming one of the development hubs of the North Central and Central Coastal regions.”
Industry is the main driving force of the economy, making a major contribution to the province's annual economic growth. In the context of a gradually recovering economy after many global upheavals, the commissioning of a large-scale automobile factory will be a "breath of fresh air," boosting the industrial sector in particular and economic growth in general.

According to data from the Department of Industry and Trade, in the first six months of 2025, the industrial production index of Ha Tinh province is estimated to have increased by 4.62% compared to the same period last year. Many products achieved higher production volumes than the same period last year, such as lithium-ion batteries (up 647.8%), construction bricks (up 118.5%), yarn (up 30%), other construction stones (up 30%), and commercial electricity (up 14.4%). Although there has been a clear recovery, the overall growth rate of the industry has not met expectations due to the impact of the export market, leading to difficulties and a decline in the production of steel – a key product of Ha Tinh's industry.
In 2025, to achieve an economic growth target of over 8%, Ha Tinh province aims for industrial growth in its GRDP to reach 13.14%. According to the Department of Industry and Trade, in the second half of the year, along with existing factories producing battery packs, cell batteries, beer, steel, electricity, textiles, and garments, the VinFast electric car factory will begin operation, and Unit 1 of the Vung Ang II Thermal Power Plant has been approved by the State Council for Construction Acceptance and is expected to begin commercial operation next month. These factors will provide a boost to industrial growth.

In addition, many industrial projects such as the Vu Quang Hydropower Plant, the infrastructure of VSIP Industrial Park, Vinhomes Industrial Park, and the expanded Gia Lach Industrial Park are currently being implemented, which will also boost the industrial development of Ha Tinh in the coming years.
“The large-scale projects coming into operation will create new growth momentum, generate jobs for workers, contribute to increasing the value of industrial production; and improve infrastructure to attract more investment projects into industrial parks and clusters in the province,” said Le Xuan Tu, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade.
To promote industrial development in 2025 and beyond, the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to focus on boosting production and business, especially for key products; supporting investors in overcoming difficulties and obstacles, and accelerating the implementation of key industrial projects; continuing to attract investment projects into industrial zones and clusters; and implementing provincial policies on supporting industrial development…

With large-scale projects and modern technology invested in the area, Ha Tinh is gradually rising to become a bright spot on Vietnam's industrial map. The provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, also aims to build Ha Tinh into a modern industrial province, developing comprehensively and sustainably, consistently adhering to the principles of green growth and sustainable development.
According to the plan, the direction of industrial development is planned to be in-depth development, creating breakthroughs in improving productivity, quality, and competitiveness of products, linked to the goal of ensuring conditions for green growth and sustainable development. Accordingly, in the long-term strategy, Ha Tinh will continue to promote attracting investment capital into industries that create high added value and environmentally friendly products to develop the economy, contributing to the transformation of the economy towards a green, sustainable, and high-tech direction.
