PTSC Thanh Hoa's mechanical manufacturing area (KKTNS) is 22 hectares wide, fully equipped with modern, automated facilities, expected to develop into a mechanical manufacturing center in the industrial - energy sector.
The transformation of modern agriculture
The 2020-2025 term is gradually coming to an end, Thanh Hoa's agriculture and rural areas are marked by strong "transformations". The "joy" comes not only from the quantitative numbers - 8/10 targets completed and exceeded the plan - but also from the real changes: Fragmented fields are reaching the "ladders" of high technology, green sustainability and conquering the international market.
In November 2024, the first batch of "made in Thanh Hoa" rice was officially exported to Singapore. This is the Japonica J02 variety from Japan, grown by Lam Son Sugarcane Joint Stock Company (Lasuco) on 500 hectares of Thanh Hoa land according to VietGAP standards. Lasuco, Mr. Tran Xuan Trung said: Japonica J02 rice is fragrant, rich in flavor, rich in nutrients and meets the strict standards of the high-end market. After Singapore, Lasuco continues to expand exports to Japan - a place with the world's most stringent import requirements.
Not only Lasuco, many enterprises such as VINAGREEN Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, Green Carbon, Faegre Japan... are expanding cooperation to bring Thanh Hoa rice to Germany, China, Indonesia. In particular, the implementation of rice fields that reduce greenhouse gas emissions is also opening up a new direction, helping farmers not only increase productivity, save costs but also earn more income from selling carbon credits - a global market worth billions of USD.

At the community level, the movement of land accumulation and concentration has spread, forming concentrated production areas of hundreds of hectares, applying mechanization, automation and linking "4 houses". The whole province has accumulated and concentrated an additional 33,800 hectares of land - exceeding the congress's target. Livestock farming has developed towards high-tech farms, ensuring disease safety, food safety and environmental protection. Attracting investment in agriculture has flourished with many value chains linking production, processing and consumption. The "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) program has achieved impressive results, putting Thanh Hoa in the top 3 nationwide.
The industrial "locomotive" is constantly moving
If agriculture is the “foundation”, then Nghi Son Economic Zone (KKTNS) and industrial parks (IPs) are the “growth engines” that help Thanh Hoa make a breakthrough. In just 5 years, the KKTNS and IPs have attracted 179 new investment projects, with a total registered capital of more than VND 104,878 billion and USD 613 million. Budget revenue from this area is estimated at VND 123,501 billion, accounting for more than 52.8% of the total budget revenue of the whole province.
This growth picture is built by the relentless efforts of traditional enterprises and a wave of new investors. The “veteran” names continue to conquer new values, while young FDI enterprises gradually join, contributing many new products to the vibrant “common house”.
At PTSC Thanh Hoa Technical Services Joint Stock Company, in the first 6 months of 2025 alone, the company safely coordinated 665 ship trips at Harbor, ensuring the supply of crude oil to Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant - an important "link" in ensuring national energy security. PTSC Thanh Hoa also maintains high-capacity port base operations, implementing a series of logistics packages for "big guys" in Nghi Son such as Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant, Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant, Nortalic Cooking Oil and Products Extracted from Cooking Oil Plant...
Notably, after more than a year of efforts to overcome technological challenges and strict international technical standards, PTSC Thanh Hoa has completed the fabrication of 30 offshore wind power foundations - the first project in Vietnam. At the end of August 2024, the last foundations were transported from PTSC Thanh Hoa Port to Vung Tau (now Ho Chi Minh City) for installation. This success not only affirms the modern mechanical manufacturing capacity but also marks Thanh Hoa's progress on the journey to become one of the three national industrial - energy centers, ready to welcome high-quality FDI capital flows, especially in the fields of technology and renewable energy.
In addition to traditional "locomotives", many new FDI enterprises also contribute to the appearance of modern industry. Typically, DS HI-TECH VINA Co., Ltd. operates in the field of manufacturing, processing and assembling electrical wiring harnesses for automobiles. Starting operations in September 2020 at Bim Son Industrial Park, the enterprise has achieved a revenue of 30 million USD, contributing more than 600 billion VND to the budget after nearly 5 years. Mr. Lee Jae Taeg, director of the company, expressed: "With a friendly and effective investment environment for FDI enterprises, we plan to expand the scale of the factory at Bim Son Industrial Park. The project is expected to start construction at the end of this year and be completed in mid-2026. The new facility will not only help us expand the production line of existing products but also add many other auto parts to serve the export market".
The stability of traditional industrial products combined with the launch of many new processing and manufacturing products has brought Thanh Hoa's industry and construction sector to develop strongly, with an average growth rate of the whole sector estimated at 14.15%/year, exceeding the congress' target. Industrial production alone achieved an average growth rate of 17.05%/year, becoming an important driving force for the province's economic growth.
“Leverage” for comprehensive development
In addition to the two key programs on agriculture and the economic zone, other key programs of Thanh Hoa in the 2020-2025 term also left a strong impression, creating "leverages" for comprehensive development.
The field applies sustainable farming processes, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, jointly implemented by Green Carbon Co., Ltd. and Faegre Japan in the rice fields of Thanh Hoa.
Typically, the tourism development program has brought about positive changes in the quality and types of services. Many tourism products and services have been developed in a professional direction, forming high-end products and community eco-tourism with their own appeal. A series of key projects such as the FLC Sam Son resort complex, along with the restoration works of Thanh Nha Ho and Lam Kinh Citadels, etc. have improved the quality of services, making Thanh Hoa rise to become "the region's leading attractive destination". In 2025, Thanh Hoa's tourism industry expects to welcome more than 16 million visitors, with total revenue reaching about 45.5 trillion VND - impressive numbers after the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In mountainous areas, the socio-economic development program has been implemented synchronously, with 11/14 target groups completed and exceeded the plan. These efforts have contributed to ensuring social security, sustainable poverty reduction, improving socio-economic infrastructure, preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups, consolidating the great solidarity bloc, and maintaining national border security. The fields of culture, education, health care, and Party building have also achieved many positive results, creating a comprehensive development picture, which is the foundation for Thanh Hoa to firmly step on the path of sustainable development.

In particular, the total state budget revenue for the first time exceeded the 50,000 billion VND mark - a figure reflecting the smooth management from the province to the grassroots and the spirit of consensus and joint efforts of the business community and people”.
Thanh Hoa has made great strides, but there are still many aspirations ahead! The “push” from key programs not only creates momentum for economic growth, but also arouses confidence and fosters the will to rise up of more than 3.7 million Thanh Hoa people on a new journey!
