Television cameras also captured the moment the 22-year-old midfielder wiped away tears as medical staff conducted a quick check-up on the sidelines. Less than 10 minutes after kick-off, Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa was forced to substitute Bellingham with Brahim Díaz.

Just five minutes after coming on as a substitute for Bellingham, Diaz provided an assist that helped Vinicius open the scoring for Real Madrid.
