On November 14th, Mbappe returned to Madrid for further examination after suffering pain in his right ankle. This is the same injury that kept him sidelined in the draw against Iceland in October. Just one day earlier, Mbappe had shone brightly with a brace in Les Bleus' 4-0 victory over Ukraine in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

According to Spanish media, Mbappe is suffering from persistent ankle inflammation. Although not serious, this injury will force him to miss the second match of this international break, against Azerbaijan.

El Desmarque reports that doctors have found no signs of serious injury, and Real Madrid expect Mbappe to be fit for the first match after the FIFA Days, an away game against Elche in La Liga on November 23.

Not only did Mbappe leave the French national team, but they also lost two other players on the same day. Eduardo Camavinga – Mbappe's teammate at both the national team and Real Madrid – was allowed to return to his club after suffering a hamstring injury. Manu Kone also left the training camp due to accumulating too many yellow cards and being suspended.

Following this training camp, Real Madrid will embark on a demanding schedule with five matches in just two weeks, most notably an away game against Manchester City in the Champions League on December 10th.

Mbappe's speed: On the morning of September 6th, Aurelien Tchouameni made a long pass to Kylian Mbappe, who sprinted forward to score, helping France win 2-0 against Ukraine in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the European region.
