Comrade Pham Thanh Liem, Chairman of the People's Committee of the Truong Sa Special Zone, said: This is the second time Truong Sa Island has held elections on the same day as the rest of the country (the first time was in 2021). This is a special task, requiring meticulous preparation to overcome harsh geographical and weather obstacles. With the highest political determination, the Special Zone Election Committee has overcome difficulties and proactively implemented comprehensive measures to direct Truong Sa Island to do a good job of all preparations, with the hope that every ballot will be delivered to voters on time so that they can fully exercise their rights and obligations as citizens as prescribed.
In addition to the voters who are officers, soldiers, and residents on the island, in this election, Polling Station No. 14 has nearly 50 fishermen – special voters who are fishing in the area and have come to the island to participate in the election; ensuring that wherever they are, voters can fully exercise their rights and civic duties.

On behalf of the Election Committee, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Duc Quynh, Commander of Truong Sa Island, opened the election, explaining the election regulations and rules of the polling station. Polling station No. 14 is determined to successfully complete the task of electing representatives to the 16th National Assembly and representatives to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
As a young soldier who only started his duties on the island in mid-2025, Corporal Nguyen Thanh An shared: "This is my first time participating in an election, and I am even more honored to be voting in the Truong Sa Special Zone - a frontline outpost of the Fatherland in the middle of the ocean. I feel very proud, happy, and excited to be able to participate in this 'National Election Day' with voters nationwide, to exercise my rights and responsibilities as a citizen in accordance with the Constitution and laws."
Ms. Le Thi Minh Dieu, a resident living on Truong Sa Island, said: "I am very proud to exercise my rights and fulfill my civic duties. I expect the elected delegates to be truly virtuous and talented individuals, representing the will and aspirations of the people; to continue to care for and develop the socio-economic aspects, strengthen national defense and security, especially the lives of the military and civilians in the Truong Sa special zone, so that Truong Sa can soon become a maritime economic, cultural, and social center of the country, a solid fortress protecting the sovereignty of the nation's seas and islands."

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huy Phung, Political Officer of Truong Sa Island, said: "To successfully carry out the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term on the same day as the national election, the Party Committee and the island's command focused on comprehensive leadership and direction, and implemented thorough preparations well from a very early stage. This included emphasizing visual propaganda and campaigning with diverse and rich forms and methods, tailored to the practical conditions on the island and the characteristics of the voters."

Alongside this, readiness for combat is always prioritized. Officers, soldiers, and the people on the island are determined to both fulfill their rights and obligations as voters and effectively carry out patrol duties, closely monitor the situation in the air and at sea, and maintain security and safety in all situations at the front lines of the Fatherland, contributing to the successful and absolutely safe conduct of the "National Day Celebration."
