He was hospitalized in Milan on April 5th due to a lung infection stemming from this disease. He had previously suffered from heart disease, prostate cancer, and was hospitalized for COVID-19 in 2020.
The most recent photo of him that was released was taken when he was discharged from the hospital on May 19th.
