Last weekend, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team secured third place at the AVC Nations Cup 2026, a tournament for teams outside the current top 3 in Asia, after a quick 3-0 victory over Kazakhstan.

The South Korean team won the championship after easily defeating Taiwan (China) in the final. For the Vietnamese team, third place was a step backward because in the three previous editions of this tournament, the Vietnamese women's team had won the championship every time.

However, the fact that the Vietnamese team lost the championship is not the most upsetting thing for the fans, simply because at the 2026 Asian Nations Cup, the team could not bring its strongest squad to the Philippines for various reasons. In sports , winning and losing are commonplace.
