Besides possessing beautiful natural landscapes stretching from the coastal plains to the vast Tây Nguyên highlands, the province also has a comprehensive transportation infrastructure system including roads, railways, airports, and seaports.
This complete connectivity opens up unprecedented opportunities for the creation of unique tourist routes.
Strategic advantage
Dak Lak boasts diverse and rich natural landscapes and cultural characteristics: to the east lies the blue sea and white sand, with famous destinations such as Bai Nom, Mui Dien, Ganh Da Dia… and distinctive coastal culture; to the west is the majestic mountain and forest landscape with the Dray Nur - Dray Sap waterfalls, Lak Lake, and villages rich in the unique culture of the highlands...
The combination of two ecosystems on the same journey creates a unique experience: tourists can watch the sunrise over the sea and, just a few hours later, breathe the fresh air of the mountains and immerse themselves in the rhythm of life in the Central Highlands villages. This uniqueness has paved the way for the development of distinctive tourism products with a unique brand for Dak Lak.

Mr. Le Phuc Long, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, commented that the diversification of tourism products in the province will help tourists have more experiences without having to travel too far, thereby increasing the number of overnight stays and spending. Based on this diverse landscape, the province is focusing on developing two distinctive product lines: "Natural and Cultural Heritage of Stone" associated with Phu Yen Geopark and "Ecological and Mountain Resort Tourism," exploiting the cool climate and extensive natural lake system.
In particular, Dak Lak province has identified the development of tourism in a green and sustainable direction, with the people at its center. Community-based tourism and ecotourism are increasing rapidly, creating opportunities for people to participate in tourism, preserving cultural identity while increasing income, and creating a solid social foundation for the long-term development of the tourism industry.
We will integrate destinations and tours to create a new tourism development space. This will leverage the potential, advantages, and unique destinations from both the East and West sides of the province to create a new tourist destination. The province has also directed the cultural sector to issue a tourism development plan for implementation.” Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province, Dao My |
According to Mr. Vo Xuan Hau, representative of Hatu Tour Trading and Tourism Service Co., Ltd., the appeal of green tourism and community tourism in the province is increasing rapidly. From 2026, the company will launch "4-day 3-night" or "5-day 4-night" tours departing from Tuy Hoa or Buon Ma Thuot, connecting a series of prominent destinations in both coastal and forest areas such as Ganh Da Dia, Mui Dien, the World Coffee Museum, Dray Nur Waterfall, Dray Sap Waterfall, etc. At the same time, cultural, culinary, and ecological experience tours for international tourists are also being prepared, promising to provide deeper insights into local life and culture.
Investment opportunities
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and Director of Kotam Community Tourism Joint Stock Company, and Vice President of the Dak Lak Provincial Tourism Association, emphasized that the province's tourism industry is facing many great opportunities as the market expands and international tours begin to focus on Dak Lak. The consolidation of administrative boundaries creates conditions for travel, transportation, and accommodation businesses to cooperate more closely, build a closed supply chain, thereby improving service quality and reducing costs.

Dak Lak's appeal has also attracted the attention of international investors. Indochina Capital Group is developing high-end resort projects such as Mandarin Oriental Bai Nom and Wink Tuy Hoa Hotel. According to Peter Ryder, CEO of Indochina Capital Group, this region boasts some of Vietnam's most beautiful beaches, stunning mountainous landscapes, and a unique culture. These are the elements that modern tourists are looking for, and the group believes they will create a boost for the tourism industry in the future.
With its harmonious blend of pristine nature, unique culture, integrated infrastructure, and sustainable development orientation, Dak Lak is facing a golden opportunity to assert its position on the Vietnamese tourism map. This is the ideal time for tourists to explore and for investors to partner with the province on its journey to becoming a new tourism hub in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions.
