"Effective mass mobilization" in the armed forces.

The "Warmth of the Home Front" model of Regiment 892, Provincial Military Command, has provided housing and livelihood support for military families and people in difficult circumstances. This model contributes to strengthening the home front, creating motivation for officers and soldiers to confidently fulfill their duties.

On the day of handover of his new house, soldier Nguyen Duy Linh, of the 12.7mm Platoon, 512th Battalion, stood silently for a long time in front of the house, which still smelled of fresh paint. For Linh, it was not only a sturdy house replacing his old thatched-roof house that had rotted away due to termites, but also a place of refuge where he could focus on training and work.

Linh's family owns no farmland, her father works as a construction laborer with an unstable income, her mother is seriously ill and unable to work, while a debt of nearly 50 million VND constantly weighs on their lives. "Having a house now makes me feel more secure, and I can try my best to complete the assigned tasks," Linh said.

In Tan Dong hamlet, Oc Eo commune, joy was also evident on the face of Mr. Tran Kim Dem, a resident who had lived for many years in a dilapidated house with an unstable income and no ability to build a new one. Thanks to the connection and support of the "Warmth of the Home Front" model, Mr. Kim Dem's dream of having a sturdy house has now come true. "With a new house, my family can work with peace of mind and no longer worry when it rains or is windy," Mr. Dem confided.

Two stories, two different circumstances, yet sharing the same joy under the roof of a loving home – this is vivid evidence of the effectiveness of the "Warmth of the Home Front" model maintained by Regiment 892 since 2016. The model not only contributes to the effective implementation of military welfare policies but also provides timely support to people with particularly difficult housing situations, thereby further motivating officers and soldiers to work with peace of mind and remain committed to the unit.

The "Warmth of the Home Front" model is implemented rigorously, transparently, and closely linked to local realities. Annually, during the new recruit training period, Regiment 892 reviews and compiles a list of disadvantaged cases, coordinating with local Party committees and authorities to conduct on-site surveys of each family. Based on this, the Party Committee and Command of Regiment 892 consider and agree on support. Funding is mobilized from voluntary contributions by officers and soldiers, as well as the support of agencies, organizations, businesses, and philanthropists, especially through fundraising cultural events called "Warmth of the Home Front," held annually.

The effectiveness of the model has been recognized through emulation movements, notably the commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in 2024 for mass mobilization work and the commendation in 2025 for implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to promote the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hoa - Political Commissar of Regiment 892, Provincial Military Command, said that the "Warmth of the Home Front" model not only provides timely support to those in difficult circumstances but also contributes to promoting the qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers," strengthening the bond between the unit and the local people.

Over time, the model has significantly enhanced the sense of responsibility and solidarity among officers and soldiers, creating motivation for the unit to successfully complete its military and national defense tasks and to cooperate with the local community in building new rural areas. From 2016 to 2025, Regiment 892 has mobilized over 2 billion VND to support the construction of 54 houses for soldiers and people in difficult circumstances. In 2025 alone, the unit will support the construction of 11 houses and provide over 270 million VND in capital to support business ventures and create livelihoods for soldiers' families in difficult circumstances.

This practical experience shows that "effective mass mobilization" within the armed forces must stem from the practical needs of the people, implemented with responsibility and genuine support. It avoids ostentatious displays and the dispersion of resources; instead, the model focuses on long-term effectiveness, thereby strengthening the close relationship between the unit and the Party committees, government, and people, contributing to consolidating public support and building a strong national defense. This is the core value that creates the enduring vitality of the "Warmth of the Home Front" model, affirming the pivotal role of the armed forces in implementing the "effective mass mobilization" movement at the grassroots level, meeting the requirements of the new era.
