The path is paved by the exemplary leadership of the leader.
We arrived in Ha An ward during the last days of the year, when the area was bustling with the sounds of construction machinery. Narrow, dilapidated roads were being upgraded and widened, bringing with them the hope of a more modern and uniform urban landscape. Amidst the still cluttered construction sites, Ms. Ngo Thi Luyen, Secretary of the Party Branch of Ha An 13 neighborhood, enthusiastically led us on a tour along the inter-neighborhood road under construction.
The road connecting Hong Ha Street to Dai Thanh Street, previously only a little over 2 meters wide, has now been widened to over 7 meters. To make way for construction, 13 households on both sides of the road voluntarily donated land and dismantled their fences and gates. For each family, this was not just a piece of land or an outbuilding, but also the result of years of hard work and dedication. Ms. Luyen shared: "Initially, many households in the neighborhood were hesitant; some had just finished building gates and fences. But if the road wasn't widened, the daily lives and transportation of the entire neighborhood would still be very inconvenient."
Without much talk about themselves, Mrs. Luyen's family was one of the first to volunteer to donate land. Nearly 30 square meters of land, along with some structures on it, were voluntarily dismantled and handed over. This exemplary act created a ripple effect. From initial hesitation, other households gradually agreed and signed land donation agreements to hand over a clean site to the construction unit.

Besides campaigning for land donations, Ms. Luyen, along with the Party branch and community organizations, also called for sharing within the community. Over 270 million VND was raised to support families in rebuilding their fences and gates. "Donating land is voluntary, but we cannot let our people suffer losses," Ms. Luyen shared.
According to the leaders of Ha An ward, the success in land clearance work stems from the transparency of all policies, listening to the opinions of the people, and especially the exemplary role of the cadres and Party members at the grassroots level. When Party members lead the way, the people are willing to cooperate and work together for the common good.
Young Party members play a key role in building villages in mountainous areas.
Leaving the city, we headed to Quang Tan commune – a mountainous area in the northeastern part of the province. The road leading to Tan Son village wound through the mountains and forests, taking us to a peaceful village where more than 90% of the population are ethnic minorities.

In Tan Son, Voong A Tai, the Party Secretary of the village, is a familiar name frequently mentioned by everyone. At 33 years old, Voong A Tai is quick-witted and approachable. His work isn't limited to meetings; it involves visiting individual households, chatting by the fireplace with families, or working in the fields with the villagers.
Every year, Mr. Tài personally reviews poor and near-poor households, especially those facing housing difficulties, to propose support from higher authorities for new construction or repairs. However, for him, government support is only the starting point. "If we only rely on government support, many families still won't be able to build new houses," Mr. Tài shared. Therefore, Mr. Tài mobilized his relatives and neighbors in the village to contribute additional funds and materials, and he called upon the village's youth union members to help with labor in dismantling old houses, transporting materials, and building new houses for disadvantaged families.
Thanks to this approach, sturdy houses have gradually been built amidst the mountains and forests. For the people here, these houses are not only shelters from the rain and sun, but also solid foundations for them to work and produce with peace of mind, striving to escape hardship. Mr. Phùn A Nhị (Tân Sơn village) happily shared: "Thanks to the Party, the State, the commune government, especially the Party Secretary of the village, Voòng A Tài, and the villagers' help, my family was able to build a spacious house like this today."

Beyond focusing on people's material well-being, Mr. Tai also prioritizes raising awareness and digital skills among the villagers. With his knowledge of information technology, he has guided them in submitting online applications and accessing public services right in their villages. Procedures that were once unfamiliar are now becoming commonplace, saving people time and effort in traveling.
During village meetings, Mr. Tài consistently disseminated the Party and State's policies and guidelines using simple, accessible language. When conflicts and disputes arose, he proactively mediated, preventing the situation from escalating or becoming complicated. As a result, security and order in the village were maintained, and the unity within the village grew stronger.
The final stop on our journey was Na Lang village (Ba Che commune), home to a thriving economic model that embodies the aspirations of young Party member Trieu Kim Vay.
In the misty morning amidst the peaceful mountain forest, in the yard of his house, the sturdy young man with sharp eyes, Trieu Kim Vay, was busy feeding his bamboo rats. Leading us on a tour of his neat and tidy enclosures, Vay slowly recounted his entrepreneurial journey: "I was born and raised in the highlands, spending my life in the forest and on the fields, but poverty clung to me. To find a new direction, I realized that the local climate, soil conditions, and abundant natural food sources were very suitable for raising bamboo rats."

Driven by that determination, Mr. Vay diligently sought out information and learned from experiences in many places. In 2016, he boldly invested in 40 breeding bamboo rats. In the beginning, Mr. Vay was quite worried, but with his perseverance and hard work, he successfully raised the bamboo rat herd, leading to noticeable results. To date, after nearly 10 years of raising bamboo rats, Mr. Vay's family has built three breeding farms. Speaking about the economic benefits, Mr. Vay honestly shared: "Raising bamboo rats is more profitable than many other animals. Commercial bamboo rats sell for 600,000-650,000 VND/kg. Every year, my family earns a profit of over 500 million VND." These figures are not just for show, but proof of a correct path, stemming from the daring and proactive spirit of this young Party member.
Instead of keeping his achievements to himself, Mr. Vay enthusiastically shared his experience and provided technical guidance to the villagers. The family of Mr. Dang Phuc Soi (Na Lang village) is one of the households that Mr. Vay has wholeheartedly helped. Since the end of 2023, with Mr. Vay's advice, Mr. Soi boldly built a larger enclosure of over 100m² to raise breeding and commercial bamboo rats. Starting with 60 breeding animals, Mr. Soi's bamboo rat herd has now grown to over 300, significantly improving his family's livelihood.
Based on those initial results, in 2023, Mr. Vay established a cooperative for the production and breeding of bamboo rats, initially with 5 members, and now with 10 participating households. As the head of the cooperative, Mr. Vay proactively provides breeding stock, shares techniques, and connects the participating households with markets, hoping that they can develop together and have a more stable life on their homeland.
Amidst the mountains and forests of Ba Chẽ, Triệu Kim Vày's model of raising bamboo rats not only brings economic value but also ignites hope for a new direction for the people in the highlands. There, the image of a young Party member silently working, dedicated, and sharing has become a pillar, spreading the spirit of striving for legitimate wealth from the grassroots level.
Three regions, three stories, three people, but all sharing a common thread: the sense of responsibility, exemplary conduct, and dedication of grassroots Party members. They don't do grand things for recognition, but start with the most ordinary tasks: building a road, constructing a house, or persistently developing production.
It is through these simple acts that the people's trust is nurtured, the great unity is strengthened, and the homeland is gradually transformed. In the journey of development alongside the rest of the country, grassroots Party members silently remain a strong bridge between the Party and the people, contributing to building Quang Ninh into an increasingly prosperous, civilized, and culturally rich place.
