Awakening the tourism potential of Van Canh

Located in the southwest of the province, about 30 km from the center of Quy Nhon city, the mountainous district of Van Canh is home to ethnic minorities such as Cham H'roi, Bana, Thai, Muong... contributing to creating a diverse traditional cultural identity; in which the majority are ethnic Cham H'roi, Bana with many unique cultural heritages.

Van Canh district currently has 3 provincial-level historical relics, including: Kho Xanh military post - where the uprising to seize power took place in 1945 (Van Canh town); Da Hue hill (Canh Thuan commune) and Muc Thinh station (Canh Hoa commune), contributing to creating more destinations for tourists who love to learn about local history and culture.

Mr. Le Thanh Nhon, Head of the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Van Canh district, said: “Along with the potential of beautiful mountains and rivers, Van Canh can also develop cultural tourism and community tourism with Cham H'roi and Bana villages with their own charm. There are stilt houses, brocade weaving, the sound of gongs and traditional musical instruments, or folk rituals with the unique features of each ethnic group... Van Canh is an ideal destination for tourists who want to explore the lives of indigenous people”.

From May 30 to June 1, Van Canh district organizes the Cultural - Tourism event in 2025. Coming to Van Canh on this occasion, visitors will experience outstanding destinations: Ka Te stone stream, Mot stream, Canh Thuan longan garden, Nui Mot lake in Canh Tien village..., immersed in the joyful atmosphere of activities such as: Folk dance festival with the theme "Mixing with the dance of the great forest", Van Canh impressive camp, folk games, traditional cake making festival; the first "Becamex - Van Canh Charm" contest - 2025, street festival; exchange of the first Becamex - Van Canh cycling tournament - 2025 with the theme "Discovering the great forest - Journey to conquer all limits"...

According to Mr. Ngo Thanh Tuan, Director of the Van Canh District Culture - Information and Communication Center, this Cultural - Tourism event is organized by Van Canh District with many highlights. At the Folk Dance Festival, the Gong Culture Festival and Traditional Costume Performance of Ethnic Minorities in Van Canh District for the 3rd time - 2025 taking place on the evening of May 31 at the District Stadium, there will be additional guest teams from Vinh Thanh District and Dong Xuan District ( Phu Yen Province) participating in the exchange of gong performances, folk dances, folk music, traditional costumes; some excerpts reenacting the festival of the Cham H'roi and Bana people. In the afternoon and evening of June 1, at the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park (Canh Vinh Commune), there will be a Street Festival and the "Charming Becamex - Van Canh" Contest, creating a vibrant cultural and artistic playground for local people, workers in the industrial park and tourists. The cycling exchange activity will have about 80 - 100 athletes from cycling clubs in districts, towns, cities, agencies, and enterprises in the province participating...
