Lam Dong province possesses great potential, encompassing various types of tourism, and is expected to create unique tourism products amidst the "Blue Sea - Thousand Flowers - Vast Forest," including night tourism products.

Diverse range of night tourism products

Previously, Lam Dong province had developed a range of nighttime service activities. However, nighttime tourism activities were still quite monotonous, limited to eating, shopping, and entertainment, on a small scale, and mainly concentrated in the provincial urban centers.

After two years of implementing the project "Some models for developing night-time tourism products in Lam Dong province," five night-time economic development models have been deployed, including: performing arts activities; sports, health care, and beauty activities; night-time shopping and entertainment; night-time sightseeing and tourism; and introducing culinary culture and night-time food and beverage services. From this, the province has formed the City Flower Garden food court, which includes a diverse and rich shopping area, food and beverage area; Tran Quoc Toan pedestrian street with activities showcasing and introducing characteristic local products and strengths; and weekend activities such as music and dance performances, acoustic music, lottery shows, gong performances, sports, and entertainment. Several night streets offer many attractive options for young people (bars, pubs, nightclubs) such as Nguyen Chi Thanh and Tang Bat Ho - Truong Cong Dinh (Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat), which can operate throughout the night...

In coastal areas, the Fishermen Show features a dazzling four-tiered water stage showcasing the legends of fishermen; visitors can explore the Po Sah Inư Tower and enjoy traditional cuisine and folk art performances, experiencing traditional Cham weaving and pottery; the nighttime food and beverage area at the NovaWorld Phan Thiet project, along with Summer Fest activities, art performances, and a diverse range of culinary delights including regional specialties from across Vietnam and abroad, attracts a large number of locals and tourists alike. Food streets, night markets, local specialties, OCOP products, and souvenirs along Tuyen Quang Street (Phan Thiet Ward) and Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street (Mui Ne Ward) draw large crowds of people for sightseeing, dining, and shopping.

The initial models of nighttime economic activities have contributed to diversifying tourism products, creating momentum for economic growth, and extending the length of stay for tourists. Ms. Nguyen Hoang Khanh (a tourist from Dong Nai) said: "Lam Dong's nighttime tourism services are becoming increasingly rich and attractive. Previously, I would just wander around Da Lat market and then go to sleep, but now, the nights are lively. I can stroll around Xuan Huong Lake, admire the night view of Da Lat, shop for local specialties, and enjoy performing arts on pedestrian streets and food streets."

However, in reality, night-time economic tourism activities have not been effectively exploited, lacking diversity and high efficiency, and are mainly concentrated in densely populated urban areas. Furthermore, there is a lack of unique and attractive night-time tourism products, especially activities after 10 PM; a synchronized chain of products and services has not been formed; activities are limited, small-scale, and not commensurate with the potential...

Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, said that in the coming time, the department will continue to attract more investors to participate in developing the night-time economy in the province. At the same time, it will promote socialization, mobilize the participation of businesses inside and outside the province, and form a number of unique night-time tourism models such as: night streets, food routes, art shows, night train tours, etc.

The sector will continue to maintain, refine, and improve the quality of nighttime economic models, focusing on the need for safe experiences for tourists, ensuring security and order, and harmonizing with the lives of local people. Food courts will be renovated to introduce seafood and Central Highlands cuisine; the musical fountain on Xuan Huong Lake will be restored; seasonal flower displays combined with LED lights will be created; street art performances will be diversified, especially those reflecting local identity.
