A look around the market on September 12th.

Pork prices have risen again.

Báo Cần ThơBáo Cần Thơ11/09/2025

(CT) - After a period of decline, the price of live pigs in many localities in the Mekong Delta has now increased again by 2,000-3,000 VND/kg compared to about two weeks ago. Traders and businesses are currently buying live pigs at 59,000-60,000 VND/kg, while previously it was only 56,000-58,000 VND/kg. The price increase is due to a decrease in supply because the number of pigs ready for sale in many localities has decreased compared to before, as well as because many households have reduced their herds recently. Although the price of live pigs has improved, many households are still cautious about restocking. Compared to the same period in 2024, the price of live pigs in many localities in the Mekong Delta is currently lower by 3,000-5,000 VND/kg.

Prices of some fertilizers have decreased.

(CT) - Currently, the prices of some types of urea and DAP fertilizers have decreased by about 10,000-30,000 VND/bag (50kg) compared to a month ago. The price drop is due to abundant supply and weak consumption, especially as the Mekong Delta enters the rainy season. Demand for fertilizers in many regions of the country has also decreased. Phu My urea, Ca Mau urea, and many types of urea imported from China are being retailed at agricultural supply stores in Can Tho City and many Mekong Delta provinces at 680,000-730,000 VND/bag, compared to 690,000-750,000 VND/bag previously. The price of Ca Mau DAP, Hong Ha green granular DAP from China, and Tuong Phong green granular DAP is being sold at many stores at 1,200,000-1,370,000 VND/bag… Although prices have decreased, overall prices of all types of fertilizers are still quite high due to the sharp price increases in the past.

Fertilizers are on display at an agricultural supply store in Can Tho City.

Jackfruit prices are rising.

(CT) - Due to reduced supply and increased demand for jackfruit for export, the price of many types of jackfruit in the Mekong Delta has increased from 12,000-14,000 VND/kg compared to about three weeks ago. In many places, the price of early-ripening jackfruit (Thai variety) sold by farmers to traders and jackfruit purchasing centers is only 25,000-27,000 VND/kg, while previously it was only 12,000-13,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of red-fleshed jackfruit (Indonesian variety), which was previously 18,000-19,000 VND/kg, has now risen to 30,000-31,000 VND/kg. The price of grade 2 red-fleshed jackfruit is 19,000-20,000 VND/kg, while grade 3 is priced at around 10,000 VND/kg… Recently, many types of jackfruit have been purchased in increased quantities by traders and businesses for export, which has contributed to price increases. Currently, the supply of jackfruit in many localities has also decreased due to the end of the harvest season.
