Imprints of Workers' Month 2025

The focus is on activities to support and care for union members and employees in difficult circumstances, those who have suffered work-related accidents, occupational diseases, and serious illnesses; cultural and sports activities; health check-ups; understanding the thoughts and aspirations and promptly resolving recommendations and proposals of union members and employees...

As a result, the whole province has 46,553 union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers benefiting from material and spiritual care activities, with a total amount of over 20 billion VND. 100% of grassroots trade unions (UCs) in all types of enterprises (DNs) have at least 1 activity responding to Workers' Month and 100% of UCs in administrative agencies and public service units have at least 1 appropriate activity responding to Workers' Month.

After the launching ceremony, the Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) established a working group to visit the production and business situation of enterprises; the life and work of employees, and presented 215 gifts (1 million VND in cash/gift). In addition, it decided to support 205 union members and employees in especially difficult circumstances and 276 union members with serious illnesses, work-related accidents, and occupational diseases at all union levels, with a total amount of 481 million VND. Coordinated with the Department of Health to organize 2 phases of the "Your Health" model, with 390 union members and employees receiving health care, free medicine, etc., with a total amount of care of more than 1.4 billion VND.

Workers' Month 2025 took place with many practical contents for union members and workers.

The direct superior trade unions at the grassroots level simultaneously implemented many practical activities. 3/15 units organized the launching ceremony of Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene; 15/15 units organized visits and support for 2,978 union members and workers in difficult circumstances, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, and work-related accidents (over 1.6 billion VND); 8/15 units organized "Workers' Festival" and cultural and sports activities attracting over 2,000 union members and workers (over 1.1 billion VND).

At the grassroots level, activities are organized practically, flexibly, and in accordance with the actual situation of the unit and enterprise. Notable activities include taking care of the material and spiritual life of union members and workers; visiting and giving gifts to workers in difficult circumstances, those who have had work-related accidents or occupational diseases; organizing programs such as "Thank you workers", "Dialogue at the workplace", "Workers' festival", sports and arts festivals, etc. Thereby, 42,248 union members were taken care of by the grassroots union, with a total amount of over 15 billion VND.

Vice President of An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Lu Thi Kim Thuy informed that during Workers' Month, the whole province supported 68 Trade Union Shelters for union members with difficult housing circumstances, with a total amount of over 2.3 billion VND. Of which, the Provincial Federation of Labor supported 10 houses (575 million VND); the Federations of Labor of districts, towns and cities supported 58 houses (over 1.8 billion VND). Trade unions at all levels visited and provided sick leave benefits to 1,095 union members and workers, with a total amount of 547 million VND. In addition, a variety of cultural, artistic, physical training and sports activities were organized, attracting over 20,000 union members, workers, civil servants and workers to participate.

May is associated with the event of commemorating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and promoting the implementation of the 2025 theme "An Giang learns and follows the example of Uncle Ho and Uncle Ton in caring for people's lives". In addition to organizing conferences to disseminate and study, trade unions at all levels organize conferences to commend typical examples in "Studying and following the example of Uncle Ho and Uncle Ton" (Long Xuyen City); commending exemplary individuals and collectives in the emulation movement for good workers and creative workers (trade unions of industrial parks, Tri Ton district).

One of the key activities is developing new union members and establishing trade union organizations in enterprises, which the union has focused on strongly. The Provincial Federation of Labor has established 2 working groups to survey 12 enterprises in 6 districts (Chau Phu, Chau Thanh, Cho Moi, Tri Ton, Thoai Son, Phu Tan) to grasp the situation, production and business activities, implementation of labor laws, recruitment needs and provide guidance and support for the development of union members and establishment of grassroots unions. As a result, the province has established 9 grassroots unions, developed 1,445 new union members, and introduced 408 outstanding union members for the Party to consider and admit.

The year 2025 has many important historical milestones for the country and is the first year of implementing the new Trade Union Law. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor assessed that this year's Workers' Month, many units have creative ways of doing things, flexible and innovative organization activities suitable to the actual conditions of localities, agencies, units, and enterprises, which have been welcomed by a large number of union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers; Party committees at all levels, authorities, and employers are interested and supported. The activities of the Workers' Month in 2025 have really attracted the attention of the whole society, had an effect, and become a great festival for workers.
