The policy on subscriber information management is one of six major policy groups in the draft decree detailing some provisions and measures for implementing the Telecommunications Law (Decree), which the Ministry of Information and Communications is currently seeking public opinion on.
According to the draft decree, subscriber information registration will be carried out in two ways: directly at a location established by the telecommunications company, directly at a location with a specific address established by another company, or at a location authorized by the telecommunications company through a contract. The draft decree also stipulates registration through the telecommunications company's applications and websites… This is classified as online registration using software and applications owned and standardized by the telecommunications company itself.
The draft also stipulates that telecommunications businesses are responsible for ensuring that subscriber information registration points fully comply with regulations on verification and storage of subscriber information; and are fully responsible before the law for the verification, entry, storage, and management of subscriber information at the registration point.
