Come and experience the land and people of Thai Nguyen.

NDO - Not far from Hanoi and Noi Bai International Airport, easily accessible to Cao Bang, the birthplace of the revolution, or down to the provinces of the Red River Delta, Thai Nguyen is home to more than 50 ethnic groups with unique and rich cultural identities. Its people are deeply patriotic and wholeheartedly follow the Revolution, which is why the Party and President Ho Chi Minh chose it as a safe zone (ATK) - the headquarters during the resistance war. Today, it is a special national historical site.

In recent days, as part of the "I Love Vietnam" project spearheaded by the Nhan Dan Newspaper, Thai Nguyen province has actively coordinated and directed relevant agencies to select locations for the Nhan Dan Newspaper and its partners to install three NFC chip-equipped billboards at the Thai Hai Ecological Stilt House Village Conservation Area – one of the "Best Tourist Villages in the World ," the Nui Coc Lake tourist area with its legendary love story that touches visitors, and the Dinh Hoa Revolutionary Base Area – the "Capital of the Thousand Winds." These are three famous landmarks, characteristic of community tourism, resort tourism, and heritage tourism, attracting the most tourists in Thai Nguyen province.

Located less than 10km southwest of Thai Nguyen city center, with convenient transportation, the Thai Hai Ecological Stilt House Village Conservation Area (also known as Thai Hai Village) in My Hao hamlet, Thinh Duc commune, Thai Nguyen city, was awarded the "Best Tourist Village in the World" award by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in 2022, and is a community tourism destination of Thai Nguyen province.

Thai Hai Stilt House Village attracts many tourists.

Thai Hai Village is nestled among evergreen trees; the village is free of motorbike noise, and the paths are paved with sloping bricks. Spanning over 25 hectares, the village is home to nearly 30 traditional stilt houses characteristic of the Tay ethnic group. The families living in these charming houses are primarily Tay people who consciously preserve their pure way of life, from their eating habits and language to their clothing, both inside and outside the village. They live a collective, self-sufficient community, producing and eating together without any individual ownership.

With such a way of organizing their lives, the families in Thai Hai Village have together created a distinctive cultural space, a tradition of the Tay ethnic group, impervious to the hustle and bustle of the outside world. This traditional cultural space has made a special impression on domestic and international tourists for many years. At times, the village apologized for not accepting more tourists due to concerns about the impact on the cultural space, living space, and ecological environment.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hai, Head of Thai Hai Village, facing the risk of traditional stilt houses disappearing, she selected and brought stilt houses from the Dinh Hoa Revolutionary Base Area to be built in Thai Hai Village, inviting the owners to live there and organizing their lives. Therefore, the main purpose of the Village is to preserve the tangible and intangible cultural values of the Tay ethnic group. Village products such as sticky rice, banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), wine, various cakes, and household items, besides serving daily life, also cater to tourists, allowing them to immerse themselves in the village community and enjoy the experience of "slow living" in the village.

Installing NFC chip boards at the Nui Coc Lake tourist area.

Not far from Thai Hai Village, visitors can travel across the gently sloping tea plantations on the rolling hills of Tan Cuong's specialty tea region to reach Nui Coc Lake, the site of the legendary love story of the beautiful young man Coc and the beautiful woman Cong. This is an artificial lake, built to block the cool, unpolluted waters of the Cong River, serving agricultural and industrial production and the lives of the people. Nui Coc Lake is planned as a national tourist area and is being developed by Thai Nguyen province, attracting many visitors.

Lake Nui Coc, vast and covering an area of 25 square kilometers, is surrounded by forests and tourist accommodations, offering a fresh and cool atmosphere even in summer. Within the Lake Nui Coc tourist area, there is an artificial stream designed within a man-made mountain. Visitors can sit in boats and glide along the stream, through a mystical "maze," listening to the poignant and tragic love story of Coc and Cong, feeling moved and regretful for their innocent love.

Leaving the artificial stream, visitors board a boat, immersing themselves in the vast, breezy expanse of the turquoise lake, with lush green mountains in the distance. In the evening, they can relax at lakeside hotels, enjoying a tranquil vacation. To elevate tourism at Lake Nui Coc, the Tan Thai golf course, built to international standards, is preparing to open; and the 6-star Flamingo Majestic Island Resort at Lake Nui Coc has just begun construction by the Flamingo Group.

With the NFC chip board installed by Nhan Dan Newspaper, tourists now have a check-in point when visiting Nui Coc Lake (Thai Nguyen province).

Leaving Lake Nui Coc, visitors arrive at ATK Dinh Hoa - the capital of the forest during the resistance war, where President Ho Chi Minh and other revolutionary pioneers resided, and where the Central Party Committee, the Government, and many military agencies, ministries, and departments were headquartered during the resistance war against French colonialism.

Visiting Khau Ty hut, where President Ho Chi Minh stayed and worked during his time in the Dinh Hoa Resistance Zone, or Tin Keo hut – where President Ho Chi Minh held a Politburo meeting to decide on launching the Dien Bien Phu campaign on December 6, 1953 – which has been reconstructed almost to its original state using bamboo and thatch, and carefully preserved, visitors can imagine the hardships, difficulties, and the simple, rustic, and nature-friendly life of President Ho Chi Minh. The huts where General Secretary Truong Chinh and Prime Minister Pham Van Dong lived and worked were also very simple, nestled in the mountains and close to the people. This highlights the solidarity of the people with the revolution.

Today, ATK Dinh Hoa is recognized as a special national historical site, with 13 of the most important relics, along with hundreds of locations associated with the history of the resistance war. It is one of the centers for educating the younger generation about revolutionary traditions, attracting thousands of visitors each year who come to offer incense and pay respects to President Ho Chi Minh and other revolutionary pioneers.

With the installation of NFC boards at Thai Hai Village, Nui Coc Lake tourist area, and Dinh Hoa Revolutionary Base, tourists can use their smartphones to interact with technology, save images, and learn information about the destination. This contributes to promoting tourism and showcasing the cultural and historical values of Thai Nguyen.
