COVID-19 update today: Number of cases decreases.

Regarding the COVID-19 situation today , the Ministry of Health reported that from 4 PM on April 8th to 4 PM on April 9th, the country recorded 44 new cases. Last week, Vietnam also recorded over 400 infections, a sharp increase compared to previous weeks.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Vietnam has recorded 11,527,745 cases, ranking 13th out of 230 countries and territories. In terms of the number of cases per million people, Vietnam ranks 121st out of 230 countries and territories (an average of 116,497 cases per million people).

During the day, 26 more patients were declared recovered, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 10,615,079. Six patients are currently receiving oxygen therapy, including one patient on invasive mechanical ventilation.

The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Vietnam to date is 43,186, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections.

The total number of deaths ranks 26th out of 230 territories, and the number of deaths per million people ranks 141st out of 230 countries and territories worldwide .

On April 8th, 13 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered. This brings the total number of vaccine doses administered to 266,022,370.
