Con Dao is an archipelago comprising 16 islands of varying sizes, belonging to Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. It is located 179km from Vung Tau city and 230km from Ho Chi Minh City. The planned development area includes a total land area of approximately 7,578 hectares and an area of approximately 140 hectares for marine development.

Vasco Airlines operates short-haul flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao, while Bamboo Airways operates longer-haul flights, bringing tourists from Hanoi to the archipelago.

Flying from Hanoi, it takes about 120 minutes to reach Con Dao. Flying from Ho Chi Minh City, it only takes about 50 minutes. This beautiful archipelago is attracting a large number of tourists from all over the world.

Con Dao Island experiences its dry season from December to April, with fewer tourists than the rainy season, but it is also very beautiful and tranquil, making it ideal for end-of-year getaways.

According to travel experience, the weather in Con Dao is divided into two seasons each year, typical of the southern climate: the rainy season and the dry season. The dry season in Con Dao begins from December to April of the following year. The average temperature is around 26 to 29 degrees Celsius.

During the dry season, the sea east of the main Con Son island often experiences strong waves and winds, but the sea to the west and southwest remains calm. Con Dao Island is being developed into a high-quality, distinctive marine and island eco-tourism destination with cultural, historical, and spiritual significance of regional and international stature.

On January 18th, the Ministry of Construction held a conference to appraise the revised overall master plan for the construction of Con Dao Island, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, until 2045.

Accordingly, Con Dao district is planned to align with the development orientation of tourism, protect and promote the value of special national historical relics, exploit and protect the ecological environment of the National Park, aiming to develop Con Dao into a high-quality, distinctive marine and island eco-tourism and cultural-historical-spiritual tourism area of regional and international stature, with a synchronized and modern technical infrastructure system; and tourism products with strong brands and high competitiveness.
