Two weeks ago, Thuong Tin asked an acquaintance to call me. During our conversation, he told me that his health was deteriorating and he could no longer walk. Sensing he didn't have long to live, he said, "I wish someone would organize a reunion for me, so I can meet my fellow artists and thank them for their support and help during these difficult years." I promised to try, but I was unable to fulfill that wish before he passed away.

"For almost a year, Mr. Tin hadn't been staying at my house because he was too weak and couldn't stand the stifling heat and sun on the sand dunes. Last week, I took my child to visit him and found him with a leg injury, bedridden, very weak, and unable to eat or drink anything. And last night, he passed away from exhaustion," Ms. Chi said.
Artist Thuong Tin, whose real name is Bui Thuong Tin, was born on September 14, 1956. He began his career in Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera), but Thuong Tin found his calling and became famous in the film industry very early on. He acted in nearly 200 films and was a successful actor in the 1980s and 1990s. In particular, his role as Sau Tam in the film "Saigon Commando" brought Thuong Tin to the peak of his career.
