To reduce operating, management, and labor costs, expand markets, reach potential customers, and increase sales efficiency, tourism companies have adopted many digital tools into their operations.

Paperless meeting of Indochina Cruise Joint Stock Company (Ha Long City).

Indochina Cruise Joint Stock Company (Ha Long City) is one of the prime examples of digital transformation in the tourism sector. Instead of holding traditional meetings as before, the company has implemented paperless meetings, thereby increasing transparency, saving time and costs, and improving work efficiency.

The company has used customer relationship management (CRM) software to manage customer information, track interactions, and improve service quality; manage customer check-ins using barcodes; and implement cashless payments. Mr. Doan Manh Cuong, Deputy General Director of the company, said: "Since implementing digital transformation, the business operations have seen certain improvements, such as a 30% reduction in printed paperwork… Now, with just a smartphone connected to the internet, I can manage my work anytime, anywhere, no matter where I am or what I'm doing, so work efficiency has increased significantly."

Ha Long Open Tourism Joint Stock Company (Ha Long City) has recently invested in implementing software for its management and business operations. This includes using VR360 virtual reality technology to support the promotion and introduction of destinations, tours, and travel routes when working with customers; managing customer check-ins using barcodes; and implementing cashless payments. Through this proactive digital transformation, the company has reduced operating, management, and labor costs, expanded its market, reached potential customers, and increased sales efficiency. According to the company's General Director, Tran Manh Thang: Digital transformation has helped the company reduce manpower needs, save on salaries, bonuses, and insurance costs; provide multi-channel 24/7 customer service, offering quick and convenient support; and utilize online meeting software to facilitate easy communication and collaboration among employees.

Not only tourism businesses in the city, but also those in mountainous areas are actively implementing digital tools in promoting their tourism products. Mr. Hoang Van San, owner of Hoang San Homestay (Hoanh Mo commune, Binh Lieu district), shared: "Five years ago, I used the internet and social media to widely promote my tourism products. Hoang San Homestay gradually appeared on tourism forums, Google search engines, and its own Facebook fan pages… Thanks to this, the number of guests visiting the homestay has gradually increased, and now we welcome about 700 guests each year."

Many young people from ethnic minority groups have created fan pages to promote and introduce the scenery of their hometowns, tourism services and products, helping to attract a large number of tourists to the picturesque areas of Binh Lieu, Mong Cai, Hai Ha, Tien Yen, etc.

Implementing the Project “Development of data applications on population, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation in the period 2022-2025, with a vision to 2030” (Project 06), there are currently 500 accommodation establishments such as hotels, guesthouses, homestays, overnight cruise ships, etc. in the province that have deployed the ASM accommodation management software. With this model, the hotel reception department only needs to scan the QR code on the chip-embedded citizen identification card of the guest, and the information will be directly linked to the ASM software on the computer, automatically updating to the national accommodation notification system, helping establishments avoid information errors.

To help businesses keep pace with digital transformation, the Department of Tourism has recently been promoting and encouraging organizations, individuals, and businesses operating tourism services in the area to actively participate in and boost e-commerce in tourism...
