Away from home, Kayserispor surprisingly opened the scoring in the 7th minute thanks to Ramazan Civelek's goal. However, Fenerbahce fought back strongly and in the 36th minute, Anderson Talisca scored the equalizer for Jose Mourinho's team.
Just three minutes into the second half, Fenerbahce were at a disadvantage when goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic unfortunately scored an own goal, giving Kayserispor a 2-1 lead. However, Fenerbahce's fighting spirit was shown strongly in the rest of the match. Allan Saint-Maximin equalized in the 64th minute, then Talisca scored a brace of his own in the 79th minute, giving the home team a 3-2 lead.
It seemed that Fenerbahce would maintain this advantage, but a surprise happened in the 4th minute of extra time, Talha Sariarslan scored the equalizer 3-3 for Kayserispor, causing Fenerbahce to drop two valuable points.
The draw means Fenerbahce are now five points behind leaders Galatasaray, who won 2-0 against Bodrum FK in their previous match. The title race between the two clubs is heating up as the Super Lig has six more rounds to go.
Fenerbahce remain unbeaten in the domestic league, with Mourinho's side last losing on 7 December 2024, when Fenerbahce lost 0-1 to Besiktas.
Fenerbahce will have to put their faith in Talisca, who has been in great form over the past month. The former Al Nassr star has scored seven goals in his last five games in all competitions.
