Renaming a People's Police school.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long has just signed a decision to rename the People's Public Security Technical and Logistics University to the Academy of Security Technology and Engineering .

The government has assigned the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Public Security , the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, and other relevant agencies, according to their functions, duties, and authority, to guide and supervise the renaming process, ensuring transparency and preventing any negative incidents, financial losses, or waste of assets.

The name change will not affect the normal operation of the school, while ensuring the legitimate rights of students, faculty, staff, employees, and related organizations and individuals.

The Academy of Security Engineering and Technology is located in Bac Ninh. The school's mission is to train high-quality human resources in technical, scientific , technological, and logistical fields for the People's Public Security.

Currently, the school provides specialized training in engineering and technology, including the following fields: Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, Public Security Engineering, Technical Intelligence, Public Security Logistics, etc.

Recently, the school also received approval from the Ministry of Public Security to implement a project to establish a Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy within the school, in coordination with the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, to train and develop medical personnel for the People's Public Security force.

The People's Public Security Technical and Logistics University was formed and developed through three main stages. In 1984, the Ministry of Interior (now the Ministry of Public Security) reorganized the system of people's public security high schools, forming the Communications High School and the Technical and Vocational High School III (later the People's Security High School III).

In 1993, the two schools merged to form the People's Public Security Vocational Technical High School, later renamed the People's Public Security Vocational Technical College.

On October 21, 2010, based on the upgrading of the People's Public Security Technical and Vocational College, the Ministry of Public Security established the People's Public Security Technical and Logistics University. After 15 years, the school was renamed the Academy of Security Technology and Engineering.

The 2025 entrance exam scores for police academies and schools range from 15.95 to 26.28, with both the highest and lowest scores at the People's Police University.
