In the October international matches, the Thai national team tested their skills against European opponents. The reigning Southeast Asian champions faced Georgia last night (October 12). The European team is ranked 38th in Europe (according to the FIFA rankings) and 78th in the world .
The Thai national team did not have its strongest lineup. Stars like Teerasil Dangda, Suphanat Muaenta, Supachok Sarachat, Chanathip Songkrasin, and Supachai Jaided were not called up for this tour. Clearly inferior in quality to their opponents, the Thai team suffered a heavy defeat.
The Thai national team suffered a heavy defeat against Georgia.
The European team took a six-goal lead in the first half. In the 9th minute, striker Zuriko Davitashvili opened the scoring for Georgia. Just three minutes later, center-back Luka Lochoshvili doubled the lead.
Having conceded quickly, the Thai team tried to regain control of the situation. Although the difference in ball possession was not significant, this statistic did not help the Thai team at all.
In the first half alone, they conceded four more goals as Davitashvili completed his brace and Georges Mikautadze scored a hat-trick in just 17 minutes. Trailing by six goals, the remaining time was of little professional significance for the Thai team. They lost their confidence and frequently made mistakes.
Mikautadze scored another goal, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – the Napoli star – finished to complete an 8-0 victory for the Georgian national team. This was Georgia's biggest win ever, and also Thailand's heaviest defeat in history.
Result: Georgia 8-0 Thailand
