Synchronized digital infrastructure and increasingly effective digital government.
Recognizing science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as strategic breakthroughs and key drivers for socio -economic development, Phu Tho province has concretized this through programs and action plans tailored to the local conditions. To date, the province has completed 163 out of 167 tasks assigned by the Central Government; the remaining tasks are being implemented on schedule. Notably, the provincial level and all 148 communes and wards have completed 100% of their assigned tasks in each phase, maintaining a completion status on the monitoring system. One of the outstanding results is the synchronized and modern investment in digital infrastructure. Currently, 100% of communes and wards are covered by broadband fiber optic cables; 4G network coverage reaches 98% of the area; and 5G coverage reaches 61% of the population. The province has developed nearly 1,000 new 5G base stations, covering all urban centers and industrial zones, and completely eliminating previously existing areas with weak signal coverage. The increasingly完善 digital infrastructure has created a crucial foundation for the deployment of digital government, digital economy, and digital society throughout the province.
The entire province has 1,574 provincial-level administrative procedures and 426 commune-level administrative procedures provided digitally. Over 684,000 applications have been received, of which more than 655,000 were processed online. The quality of service to citizens and businesses has continuously improved, as evidenced by the 95.49/100 score achieved on the National Public Service Portal. Furthermore, the province has connected and synchronously utilized 6 national databases, 7 key specialized databases, and 47 provincial-level specialized databases. Data in the fields of land, education , health, finance, and civil registration have been digitized and interconnected, effectively serving management, administration, and public service provision.
In Ban Nguyen commune, formed by the merger of Ban Nguyen, Vinh Lai, and Cao Xa communes, digital transformation has become a crucial tool for improving the quality of public service. From July 1, 2025 to the present, the commune has received over 8,200 administrative procedure applications, with nearly 97% processed online; the rate of timely and early resolution has reached nearly 100%. According to Dao The Trang, Director of the Ban Nguyen Commune Public Administration Center, after the merger, the population has increased rapidly, with the center receiving 70-100 applications daily. Thanks to the increased application of digital technology , over 98% of applications are processed online. It can be said that digital transformation has contributed to shortening the time for processing administrative procedures, reducing travel costs for citizens, and ensuring transparency in the work process.
Unlocking new growth drivers
Not only has digital transformation brought about changes in the operation of the administrative apparatus, but it has also opened up new growth drivers for the province's economy. Currently, the digital economy of Phu Tho province is estimated to account for about 22.7% of GRDP, placing it among the localities with a high proportion of the digital economy nationwide. Many businesses operating in the fields of digital technology, electronic component manufacturing, software, and technological solutions are developing strongly. The export value of digital industrial products has reached over 7 billion USD, making a significant contribution to local economic growth. Along with the development of the digital economy, the province's science and technology and innovation ecosystem is constantly being strengthened and expanded. The province currently has 63 science and technology organizations, 23 higher education institutions, and many science and technology enterprises and high-tech enterprises operating effectively.
According to the People's Committee of Phu Tho province, in order to promote technological innovation in businesses, the province has implemented many practical support policies in recent years. In 2025 alone, 10 businesses received support for technological innovation with a total budget of over 4 billion VND. Currently, the province has 25 science and technology enterprises and 6 high-tech enterprises, creating an important foundation for economic development based on knowledge, technology, and innovation. The development of intellectual property continues to be emphasized. More than 2,000 applications for intellectual property protection have been submitted, and over 1,500 protection certificates have been granted. Nearly 110 key products, specialty products, and OCOP products have received support in building and protecting intellectual property rights, contributing to enhancing brand value and competitiveness in the market. Notably, over 5,000 community-based digital technology groups with approximately 30,000 members have been formed throughout the province, becoming a core force in bringing digital technology to the people. Models such as "Digital Ambassadors," "Digital Families," "Digital Markets - Digital Rural Areas," and "Youth Joining Hands to Popularize Digital Skills" are contributing to improving digital skills, narrowing the digital divide between regions, and promoting the nationwide digital transformation process.
According to Nguyen Duy Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Phu Tho province, the achievements in recent times affirm the province's correct direction in using science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as drivers for development.
