Doraemon: Nobita and the Castle Under the Sea (Doraemon Movie 45) reached 200 billion VND in revenue on the morning of June 21st, according to Box Office Vietnam statistics. With this achievement, the film has become the highest-grossing international film of 2026 to date.
After more than a month since its release, the latest installment about the futuristic robot cat has cooled down, dropping to sixth place in the box office rankings. The film is likely to end its run with a performance in the range of 200-205 billion VND .
Before taking Vietnam by storm in theaters, the film had already caused a sensation in its home country. Doraemon: Nobita and the Castle Under the Sea attracted nearly 3.2 million viewers, solidifying Doraemon 's position as one of the most consistently popular animated franchises in the Japanese market.

However, the visuals and some details have been revised.
Just before the film arrived in Vietnamese theaters, a special episode titled "A Gift: A Trip to Vietnam" was released. This episode depicts a group of young friends on a trip to Vietnam. Famous landmarks such as Hoi An Ancient Town, Da Nang Dragon Bridge, and Ho Chi Minh City Post Office , as well as local food and festivals, appear in the film, delighting viewers.
The special episode created a positive effect, contributing significantly to the explosive debut of Doraemon: Nobita and the Castle Under the Sea in Vietnamese theaters.
