Every summer, the atmosphere in Ms. Nam Manh's family (Long Ho district) becomes lively, as her two daughters, who are Vietnamese expatriates, often choose the summer to return to their homeland to visit family. Ms. Manh's two daughters immigrated to the US more than a decade ago, and Ms. Manh lives in her hometown with her eldest son. The two daughters always try to arrange everything perfectly so they can regularly return to Vietnam during the summer, reunite with family, and organize summer trips for their children and grandchildren to enjoy fun holidays. With so many children and grandchildren, they often choose beach trips so the kids can swim to their heart's content.
Typically, the eldest son plans the trips meticulously, booking transportation and hotels in advance, taking advantage of promotions and discounts on services through apps, while the older children also search online for affordable, authentic restaurants in the tourist destinations. Ms. Manh shared: “My family mainly goes on vacations, and we especially enjoy sampling local cuisine . Because my two daughters live far from home and miss Vietnamese food, our trips are always exciting with regional culinary experiences. Each family trip is a time for bonding and togetherness.”
As soon as his youngest son's summer vacation ended, Mr. Minh Hien (Vinh Long City) organized a 5-day Nha Trang-Da Lat tour to reward him for his good end-of-year academic results. Mr. Hien booked a stay at a good resort so that he and his wife could relax and unwind after a busy year at work. Mr. Hien said that he and his wife had been quite busy and faced many difficulties at work, leaving them with little time together and neglecting their son's studies. Fortunately, the boy has a good self-discipline in his studies. "With summer coming, I decided to put work aside and organize a fun trip for my wife and son to make up for it and give the whole family a chance to bond and show love," he said.
Summer travel is in full swing. Travel companies are introducing a variety of programs, products, and tours to stimulate demand and attract tourists. There are many reasonably priced packages for families to choose from, often bundled with attractive promotions from various travel companies nationwide. This year, the trend of eco-friendly, nature-based tourism is popular. Da Lat has always been an ideal summer destination for families, a paradise for those who love cool weather, beautiful nature, peaceful surroundings, and a rich culinary experience. However, for young children, beach destinations are always the preferred choice, where they can enjoy swimming and savoring seafood with many delicious dishes that appeal to everyone.
Phu Quoc and Nha Trang are always ideal beach destinations for families, as are nearby places like Vung Tau and Long Hai, which are also very attractive to tourists. At these tourist destinations, families can have fun with many exciting activities, from thrilling rides to team-building games, snorkeling to admire coral reefs, and swimming freely in the sea – all of which will create memorable memories for the whole family.
Hoi An and Da Nang are also a perfect combination for family trips, offering many entertainment options for children. The whole family can participate in lantern making, learn to cook traditional dishes, or visit cultural tourist attractions.
