On April 29th, the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City launched a showroom and sales point for specialty products from the Mekong Delta and OCOP products at Can Tho Eco Resort (Phong Dien District, Can Tho City).
Over 200 products from 30 businesses, cooperatives, and OCOP establishments across the Mekong Delta, such as Long Giang soursop tea, Thuan Hoa cereal powder, Quang Dang purple rice milk, processed nuts from DG Foods, Ong Cua rice, Ba Dam fish sauce, Co Moi dried snakehead fish, etc., are on display with the goal of bringing OCOP products and specialties closer to domestic and international tourists.
Mr. Ha Vu Son, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City, affirmed that bringing OCOP products and specialties to key tourist destinations is a win-win solution, increasing the attractiveness of the destination and expanding the market for the products.
Mr. Son stated that after Can Tho city merges with Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces, the projected economic scale will increase to 15 billion USD, and the value of trade and services will reach approximately 350,000 billion VND. The development of OCOP products will maximize the potential of agriculture, fisheries, and tourism in the entire Mekong Delta region.
