Many parents are concerned that children are spending too much time in front of phone and computer screens. The internet opens up a fascinating world , but it also contains many pitfalls such as violent content, dangerous challenges, and misinformation.
Surveys show that children aged 10-15 in Vietnam use the internet for an average of 5-7 hours per day. The overuse of social media makes children more vulnerable to online bullying, leads to low self-esteem, and impairs their ability to concentrate on their studies.
In addition, children face the risk of being scammed or tricked into sharing personal information or private images. Experts recommend that parents set screen time limits and guide their children in choosing appropriate content. Schools also need to strengthen digital skills education , helping children learn how to protect themselves online.
