Activities to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025)
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a special art program “The name of Ho Chi Minh will shine forever”, consisting of 3 parts: “The person who seeks the shape of the country”, “Return”, “He is the belief in certain victory” at the Hanoi Opera House, on the evening of May 18.
The film week celebrating the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh will take place from May 12 to 15, 2025 in Nghe An province. The film week is organized to express respect and gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh - National liberation hero, outstanding cultural celebrity; to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh. Through the activities of the film week, we continue to propagate and educate Ho Chi Minh's ideology; promote the study and follow of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; and promote the image of Nghe An homeland to the whole country and internationally.
Along with that, within the framework of the Film Week, there will also be an exchange program with artists and film crews at the 414th Engineering Brigade (Military Region IV) and the people of Nam Dan district (Nghe An province) on May 13 and at Vinh University (No. 182 Le Duan, Vinh city, Nghe An province) on May 14.
On the evening of May 18, Thang Long Puppetry Theatre will perform at Lenin Park, Dien Bien Phu Street, Dien Bien Ward, Ba Dinh District; Hanoi Opera House will perform in Ung Hoa District; Hanoi Circus and Variety Arts Theatre will perform in Thuong Tin District; Hanoi Drama Theatre will perform in Soc Son District; Thang Long Music and Dance Theatre will perform in Long Bien District.
The play “The Man in Rubber Sandals” will be performed on the evening of May 16 at the Vietnam Drama Theater, No. 1 Trang Tien, Hanoi. The play is based on a literary script by Kateb Yacine (1929 - 1989), an Algerian writer. This is a collaborative art program between the Vietnam Drama Theater and the Algerian Embassy in Vietnam.
The play “White Night” by the late author Luu Quang Ha, directed by People’s Artist Xuan Bac with the performance of nearly 100 artists and actors of the Vietnam Drama Theater, will be performed at 8:00 p.m. on the evenings of May 18, 19 and 24 at the Vietnam Drama Theater, No. 1 Trang Tien, Hanoi; 8:30 a.m. on May 20 at Dai Nam Theater, 89 Hue Street, Hanoi.
The programs also have many performances praising the Communist Party of Vietnam; praising love, homeland, country, and Vietnamese people; about the capital Hanoi today...
The audience will enjoy performances that are elaborately staged, unique, attractive and performed by many different art forms such as singing, dancing, music, drama, puppetry, circus... to meet the enjoyment needs of the majority of people in the capital.
Ca Mau organizes an art program to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh at 7:30 p.m. on May 19, 2025 (expected to last 70 minutes), combined with high-altitude fireworks to serve the people in Tran Van Thoi town, Tran Van Thoi district. At the same time, a ceremony to pay respects, offer incense and flowers will be held at 7:00 a.m. on May 19, 2025, at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area. Other activities will be organized such as: Planting trees to remember Uncle Ho; praising and reporting to Uncle Ho; organizing thematic activities under the flag; performing arts to serve the people in districts and cities of Ca Mau; organizing exhibitions combined with extracurricular activities about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh; a painting contest with the theme "Uncle Ho with children"; a sports tournament "Physical training following the example of great Uncle Ho".
