Lim Festival 2026

The Lim Festival of the Year of the Horse 2026 will take place over two days, from February 28th to March 1st, corresponding to the 12th and 13th days of the first lunar month of the Year of the Horse. The festival will be held in the villages of the former Noi Due commune, now Tien Du commune, comprising seven villages: Due Dong, Due Nam, Due Khanh, Dinh Ca, Lung Giang, Lung Son, and Lo Bao. The center of the festival is Hong Van Mountain, also known as Lim Mountain.

This year's ceremonial part includes many solemn rituals such as offering incense to inaugurate the festival at Hong An Pagoda; and performing sacrificial rites at the tomb of General Nguyen Dinh Dien.

Notably, the ceremony to receive the Certificate of Recognition as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage for the Lim Festival will take place at the central stage on Lim Hill. In addition, villages with festivals in the commune will organize processions, rituals, and incense offerings according to traditional customs at communal houses, temples, and pagodas.

The festival continued to be a highlight, attracting a large audience with activities such as call-and-response singing and Quan Ho folk singing exchanges at 6 Quan Ho pavilions; Quan Ho singing on boats, at temple gates, water pavilions, Quan Ho performance houses, the artists' houses, and on the central stage.

Alongside these are traditional folk games such as card games, calligraphy, poetry recitation, and chess; and cultural performances at the central stage.

The festival also includes provincial-level freestyle and traditional wrestling championships; folk games such as swing riding, blindfolded goat catching, pot smashing… and many cultural, culinary, and entertainment activities taking place at the festival center and surrounding villages.
