Ba Thu Bon Festival - 2026
The Thu Bon Goddess Festival - 2026 will take place from March 28th to 30th (corresponding to the 10th to 12th day of the 2nd lunar month) at the Thu Bon Goddess Shrine historical site (Trung An village, Nong Son commune, Da Nang city). The People's Committee of Nong Son commune will organize the Thu Bon Goddess Festival 2026 with many rich and unique activities.
The ceremonial part of the Thu Bon Goddess Festival - 2026 is organized according to traditional rituals and customs, including: the Ceremony of Offering to the Spirits; the Ceremony of Offering to Ancestors; the Procession of the Sacred Decree; the Procession of Water; the Floating of Lanterns; the Sacred Fire Lighting Ceremony; the Ceremony of Offering to the Ancestors; the Ceremony of Offering to the Goddess - the Ceremony of Offerings; the Main Ceremony; the Ceremony of Returning the Sacred Decree… expressing gratitude to the ancestors and the worship of the Goddess by the local people. The Thu Bon Goddess Festival is an annual event that always attracts a large number of tourists and locals, aiming to preserve traditional cultural values in Nong Son commune. It serves as an opportunity to promote scenic spots, highlight the historical and cultural value of the Thu Bon Goddess Shrine, and contribute to educating people about preserving and promoting cultural identity, and fostering awareness in managing and restoring historical and cultural relics in general, and the value of the Thu Bon Goddess Shrine and Festival in particular.
It is known that the Thu Bon Goddess Temple was recognized as a provincial-level historical site in 2008, and the Thu Bon Goddess Festival was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2020. At the Thu Bon Goddess Festival, people and tourists can visit and experience many unique traditional cultural values, enjoy the cuisine, and admire the picturesque scenery of the headwaters of the Thu Bon River in Quang Nam province.
