Detail

The Lo Temple - Dam Temple Festival will take place from March 19th to March 28th (corresponding to the 1st to 10th day of the 2nd lunar month). This is a traditional festival of Xam Duong village, held annually to commemorate the contributions of ancestors and to preserve and promote the value of historical and cultural relics in the area.

The ceremonial part was organized according to traditional rituals with many unique activities such as the opening ceremony, sacrificial rites, and processions that bear the distinct cultural imprint of the Red River Delta region.

The festival also features a rich array of cultural activities, folk games, and sports competitions, meeting the cultural needs of the people and tourists.

The Dai Lo Temple - Dam Temple complex has long been known as a typical religious space associated with the Mother Goddess religion in the Red River Delta region. According to historical documents and folk legends, this place worships the Holy Mothers and the system of deities in the Four Realms belief system, reflecting the rich spiritual life of the agricultural inhabitants of the delta region.

Beyond its religious significance, the complex of relics also preserves many layers of cultural sediment from various historical periods. Rituals such as spirit mediumship, water processions, and literary processions have been maintained through generations, demonstrating the close connection between humans and nature, particularly the role of the Red River in the lives of the inhabitants.

Notably, the complex of relics is also considered a "red address" in the preservation and practice of the Mother Goddess worship – a unique intangible cultural heritage of the Vietnamese people. The festival space here meets spiritual needs, contributes to educating the tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source," strengthens community solidarity, and spreads sustainable cultural values.
