Tay Thien Festival 2026

The Tay Thien Festival 2026 will take place from April 2nd to 4th (corresponding to the 15th to 17th day of the second lunar month ) in Dai Dinh commune, Phu Tho province. This is not only an annual cultural event but also an opportunity to pay tribute to the merits of the National Mother Goddess and to promote the heritage values ​​of the ancestral land.

A new feature of this year's festival is its organization under a two-tiered local government model, with the Dai Dinh commune government directly responsible for the organization. Despite the changes in organization, traditional rituals are preserved intact, ensuring their sacredness and proper conduct.

The series of festival rituals begins with the Announcement Ceremony at historical sites such as Thong Temple, Thuong Temple, and Thuong Pagoda, creating a solemn spiritual atmosphere. The highlight is the procession of the National Mother's palanquin on the 15th day of the second lunar month, with the participation of processions in traditional costumes, vividly recreating ancient rituals.

Besides the solemn ceremony, the festival offers a vibrant atmosphere with many cultural and sporting activities and folk games such as tug-of-war, chess, and volleyball, contributing to strengthening community bonds. In particular, activities such as the competition for making banh chung, banh day, and banh gio not only create an attractive highlight but also contribute to honoring the traditional rice farming – a value closely associated with the contributions of the National Mother.

The heritage space at the festival also features many exhibitions and folk art performances such as Soọng cô singing of the Sán Dìu ethnic group, helping visitors gain a deeper understanding of the local culture of the Tam Đảo region.

The Tay Thien Festival 2026 is not only a spiritual pilgrimage but also an opportunity for everyone to reconnect with their roots and experience the depth of national culture amidst the majestic mountain scenery. This is also an important step in making Tay Thien a leading cultural and religious tourism center in the northern region.
