Phu Xuan Tet 2026
The program will take place from February 2nd to 8th, 2026, corresponding to the 15th to 21st day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake (2015), stretching from Thuong Bac Park to the area around the Imperial Academy, Ham Nghi Square, and the 23rd of August Street in Phu Xuan Ward, Hue City. This is a central space, deeply connected to the historical depth and cultural life of the Imperial Capital region.
With the theme "The Flavors of the Imperial City," the program emphasizes the harmonious blend of "COLOR" – vibrant scenery: The decorated area at Thuong Bac Park will be extensively invested in with meticulously arranged palace architecture layouts, along with flower gardens and giant models of the Year of the Horse mascot, creating a unique artistic check-in location. This space will be open to visitors from the 15th day of the 12th lunar month throughout the Tet holiday. In addition, "COLOR" is also clearly expressed through the beauty of the traditional ao dai dresses and the traditional Tet decorations in the courtyard of the Temple of Literature.
And "TASTE" – The culinary essence of the ancient capital: Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional Hue Tet jams such as ginger jam, lotus jam, etc., exquisitely crafted and imbued with the sweet flavors of the ancient capital. The series of activities is designed to honor the cultural identity of the ancient capital, contributing to the preservation and dissemination of the distinctive intangible cultural values of Central Vietnam, while creating a close-knit, community-rich experience of traditional Tet.
Throughout the event, there will be check-in areas, displays, and sales of traditional Tet products; experiential activities such as wrapping banh chung and banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), making Tet jam, sculpting clay figurines, making Thanh Tien paper flowers, and calligraphy; along with many familiar folk games such as pot smashing, bamboo pole dancing, and archery. Visitors will also have the opportunity to pick lucky spring gifts, admire calligraphy by artisans, and receive products imbued with the atmosphere of Hue's Tet.
The highlight of the program is the community cultural and artistic activities, the wrapping and cooking of banh chung and banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) by neighborhood groups in the "Reunion Cake Soup" space, along with martial arts performances and lion dances for the people and tourists. The most spectacular highlight of Phu Xuan Tet 2026 is the series of art programs taking place over three nights at the Quoc Tu Giam heritage site. This is a perfect blend of traditional sounds and modern life, with the opening ceremony on February 6th, 2026, and concluding with an explosive grand music festival on February 8th featuring renowned guest artists representing two musical genres:
