Coin removed from 2 year old boy's stomach

(Dan Tri) - Doctors successfully removed a coin from the stomach of a 2-year-old boy in Gia Lai.

On November 15, doctors at a hospital in Gia Lai successfully removed a coin from the stomach of a 2-year-old PAD patient (living in Ia Nan commune, Gia Lai province).

Previously, on November 6, baby D. was taken by his family to the hospital in Hoi Phu ward, Gia Lai province with symptoms of severe cough and pneumonia.

As a result of X-ray, doctors discovered a coin measuring 3-4cm in the child's stomach.

According to the family, about 3 days before being admitted to the hospital, baby D. was taken to a playground. While playing, the baby may have accidentally swallowed a coin but the family did not know.

Because the child was suffering from pneumonia, the doctors prioritized treatment to stabilize the respiratory tract. After D.'s health stabilized, the doctor performed an endoscopy under anesthesia and safely removed the coin from the stomach without any complications.
