As a key agricultural area in the western part of the province, An Sinh ward has nearly 3,266 hectares of agricultural land, including 1,179 hectares of rice paddies, with the remainder being other types of agricultural land. With the goal of developing agriculture in a safe, sustainable, and environmentally friendly manner, the ward has actively encouraged farmers to apply digital transformation in agricultural production; innovating production organization methods to strengthen linkages between neighboring farming households to jointly create a sufficiently large clean and organic agricultural production area with consistent product quality and competitive prices. Emphasis is placed on building clean and organic agricultural production models to develop agricultural and rural ecotourism, attracting tourists to visit and consume products, thereby increasing production value and income for the people; and promoting the linkage of the four stakeholders (State - Farmers - Businesses - Scientists )...

In line with this policy, many successful agricultural production models have emerged in An Sinh ward. A prime example is the family of Ms. Chu Thi Dua (Tan Thanh area), who boldly switched from low-yield food crops to growing custard apples and avocados according to VietGAP standards. This is combined with a closed-loop pig farming model in a cold storage facility, minimizing contact with people and pathogens, and reducing risks in livestock farming. Currently, Ms. Dua's farm consistently houses around 300 sows and nearly 1,500 fattening pigs. On average, they sell about 500 pigs per month, including both breeding and commercial pigs, with commercial pigs yielding over 30 tons of live weight. After deducting expenses, the family earns an average of 2 billion VND per year, providing employment for 10 local workers.
As Vice Chairman of the Ward Farmers' Association, Mr. Trinh Xuan Duong pioneered the implementation of a linkage model between Orion Vina Food Co., Ltd. (South Korea) and the former Dong Trieu City, introducing Atlantic potatoes into winter crop production to replace less efficient crops. With 6 hectares of potato cultivation, yielding 16-17 tons/ha, his family harvests an average of over 100 tons of potatoes annually, worth more than 700 million VND.
Not only did Mr. Duong enrich himself, but he also actively promoted and disseminated the knowledge to encourage farmer association members to follow suit. This winter season, 350 households in the ward participated in potato cultivation, covering an area of over 140 hectares, accounting for nearly 50% of the winter crop area. With favorable planting weather and a reliable seed source, it is expected that in 2026, An Sinh ward will harvest over 1,500 tons of potatoes, with an estimated revenue of 13-14 billion VND, after deducting seed costs, the net profit will be around 10 billion VND. On average, each plot of land planted with potatoes yields a profit of 2.5-3.5 million VND, much higher than some other crops and vegetables grown concurrently in the same season.

Mr. Trinh Xuan Duong stated: "In the past, the Farmers' Association of the ward has facilitated loan access from the Social Policy Bank, the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank, and Loc Phat Commercial Joint Stock Bank, enabling members to invest in expanding production and business, and increasing their income. Currently, the Association is effectively managing loan funds with a total outstanding balance of over 126 billion VND for 1,257 member households. In addition, the Association also supports farmers in registering planting area codes and bringing OCOP products to e-commerce platforms and social media."
According to statistics, in 2025, the total value of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries production in An Sinh ward will reach 497.2 billion VND, equivalent to 100% of the annual growth target, a 6.3% increase compared to 2024, contributing 1.47 percentage points to the overall growth rate. The ward will continue to maintain a total cultivated area of 1,650 hectares/year, with a total annual food production of 11,200 tons (8,700 tons of rice; 2,500 tons of corn, potatoes, and cassava). Fruit trees, which are the local strengths, such as custard apples, oranges, and pomelos, will continue to be maintained and developed with a total area of 951 hectares (630 hectares of custard apples). The ward will maintain the scale of livestock and poultry farming with an annual production value of over 165 billion VND. The area of freshwater aquaculture ponds and lakes will remain stable at 100 hectares, with freshwater fish production reaching approximately 500-600 tons per year. The total value of freshwater aquaculture production for the whole year of 2025 is expected to reach approximately 12.5 billion VND.
The value of forestry production from pine resin extraction, timber harvesting, and reforestation after harvesting for the whole year of 2025 reached 8.5 billion VND. The ward maintained a stable forest area of 6,078.2 hectares, replanting and newly planting a total of 200 hectares of forest during the year, harvesting 12,500 m³ of timber, and harvesting approximately 20 tons of non-timber forest products (pine resin). The average per capita income in the ward reached 124 million VND/year.
