The metal market experienced a volatile week with the focus on the FED interest rate cut. For the precious metals group, silver prices increased for two consecutive weeks with an increase of 1.39% to 31.5 USD/ounce, the highest in more than two months. On the contrary, platinum prices turned down from a peak of nearly two months when they lost 2.47% of their value, closing the week, the price of this item was listed at 981.9 USD/ounce.

The Fed’s decision to cut interest rates sharply was considered by experts to be “dovish” and an optimistic start to the monetary easing campaign. Precious metals, which are sensitive to interest rate fluctuations, were also expected to benefit from this move. However, silver and platinum prices fluctuated in opposite directions afterwards, reflecting that investors were still cautiously assessing the impact of the policy on prices. However, experts said the outlook for precious metals prices was still inclined to increase, at least in the short term.
