Prices of dried onions have dropped sharply.

According to some farmers in Nam An Phu commune and Nguyen Dai Nang ward (Hai Phong city), the price of dried onions has dropped sharply compared to the same period last year.

Currently, the price of dried onions in Nam An Phu commune and Nguyen Dai Nang ward is between 12,000 and 15,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, the price of dried onions is currently at 12,000-15,000 VND/kg, down from 18,000-20,000 VND/kg compared to the same period last year. The reason for the sharp drop in the price of dried onions is the decrease in market demand.

In the 2024-2025 winter crop season, Kinh Mon town (formerly) had 3,774 hectares of onions, with a yield of 200 quintals/hectare, an increase of 5.3% compared to the previous winter crop season. Farmers usually sell dried onions until it is time to plant the new onion crop.
