In An Giang province, the prices of various types of raw rice remained stable compared to yesterday. Specifically, IR 504 rice ranged from 8,200 - 8,250 VND/kg; CL 555 from 8,600 - 8,800 VND/kg; OM 18 from 10,200 - 10,400 VND/kg; OM 380 from 7,700 - 7,850 VND/kg; and 5451 from 9,600 - 9,750 VND/kg. The prices of finished rice also remained high, such as OM 380 from 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg and IR 504 from 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.
At local markets, the prices of various types of rice for consumption have not fluctuated much. Fragrant and specialty rice varieties like Nang Nhen remain at the highest price of 28,000 VND/kg, while Huong Lai and Japanese rice are priced at 22,000 VND/kg. Common white rice, regular Soc rice, and Jasmine fragrant rice range from 13,000 to 20,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, the price of fresh paddy rice at the farm gate has shown a downward trend. Specifically, OM 380 and IR 50404 rice decreased by about 200 VND/kg, falling to 5,600 - 5,900 VND/kg and 5,400 - 5,700 VND/kg respectively. Other rice varieties such as OM 5451, OM 18, Dai Thom 8, and Nang Hoa 9 remained stable at around 6,200 to 7,000 VND/kg, depending on quality and region.
Purchasing activity in various localities remains quite sluggish. In Dong Thap, farmers are maintaining prices, but traders are buying slowly. The situation in Long An is no better, with most transactions already pre-arranged and prices remaining virtually unchanged. An Giang and Can Tho, despite having started harvesting early summer-autumn rice, have not seen an improvement in transaction volume. In Kien Giang, rice prices remain stable, with few transactions.
On the export market, Vietnamese rice prices are showing a slight improvement. 5% broken rice is currently at $398/ton, a slight increase of $1; 25% broken rice remains at $368/ton; and 100% broken rice is stable at $323/ton. This is considered a positive sign in the context of a still cautious domestic market.
