Rice prices today, April 14th: Fresh paddy prices decrease.

Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region today, April 14, 2025, remained relatively stable. Market volume was low, rice prices were relatively stable, and fresh paddy prices tended to decrease compared to the end of last week.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current prices are as follows: IR 504 raw rice ranges from 7,850 to 8,000 VND/kg; OM 380 raw rice ranges from 7,700 to 7,850 VND/kg; 5451 raw rice ranges from 9,600 to 9,750 VND/kg; finished OM 380 rice ranges from 8,800 to 9,000 VND/kg; and finished IR 504 rice ranges from 9,500 to 9,700 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, the prices of these items range from approximately 6,600 to 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice (grades 3-4) is priced at 6,650 - 6,800 VND/kg; and bran is priced at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg.

Observations in various localities today show that the supply of rice is better, with relatively stable prices for all types of rice, and trading is slow. In An Giang , demand from warehouses is slow, and prices are relatively stable. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the supply is low, most large warehouses are trading slowly, and prices remain steady.

At Sa Dec market ( Dong Thap province ), the quantity is slow, warehouses continue to buy slowly, selecting rice, and prices remain stable. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang province), the quantity is small, warehouses are buying slowly, and prices are less volatile.

At retail markets, rice prices remained unchanged compared to the weekend. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed highest at 28,000 VND/kg; regular rice ranges from 15,500 - 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 22,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice ranges from 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current prices for rice are as follows: OM 18 rice (fresh) ranges from 6,800 to 6,900 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) ranges from 6,900 to 7,000 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice (fresh) ranges from 6,200 to 6,400 VND/kg; IR 50404 rice (fresh) ranges from 5,800 to 6,000 VND/kg; OM 380 rice (fresh) is at 6,000 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 rice ranges from 6,550 to 6,750 VND/kg.

Observations in many localities today show that trading in all types of dried rice has slowed down; farmers are offering to sell, but traders are buying little. Trading in fresh rice is also sparse, and prices tend to decrease slightly. In An Giang and Can Tho, trading in all types of fresh rice remains slow, and prices are stagnant. In Long An, traders are inquiring about buying little, and trading is sparse.

In Kien Giang, rice supplies are dwindling, the supply from Hon Dat has decreased significantly, and prices are trending downwards. In Bac Lieu, farmers are keeping fresh ST rice prices high, traders are inquiring less about buying, and many areas of fragrant rice have already been reserved.

On the export market, Vietnamese rice export prices remained unchanged compared to the end of last week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of 5% broken rice is $397/ton (down $2/ton); 25% broken rice is $369/ton; and 100% broken rice is $317/ton.
