The General Department of Taxation has just released information about the phenomenon of some individuals impersonating tax officials, providing links and instructions to taxpayers to install fake software mimicking tax authority applications in order to steal personal information and bank account information for the purpose of misappropriating assets.
Therefore, the tax authorities advise taxpayers to absolutely refrain from downloading or installing tax authority applications on their computers/smartphones via links not provided by the General Department of Taxation. In addition, taxpayers should not allow any individual to directly access their computer/phone to assist in installing or using tax authority software.

The General Department of Taxation announces the official applications provided by the industry at the following addresses: The Tax Declaration Support Application is available on the industry's electronic portal (https://www.gdt.gov.vn); and the Electronic Tax Services Portal (https://thuedientu.gdt.gov.vn).
In addition, the email address and phone number for taxpayer support at the General Department of Taxation are nhomhttdt@gdt.gov.vn, phone number 024.37689679, extension 2180, and the support group for guidance on using electronic invoice services is at email nhomhotrohddt@gdt.gov.vn, phone number 024.73055999.
In addition, taxpayers can download, install, and use the General Department of Taxation's application via Google Play or Apple Store and the General Department of Taxation's websites.
On the other hand, the tax authorities also advise that when taxpayers need support with tax-related applications, they should send requests via email or call the phone numbers listed on the local tax authority's website. Based on this, support staff will respond using the same email and phone numbers mentioned above.
To ensure the safety and security of taxpayer information, tax authority support staff do not directly access taxpayers' computers or phones.
