According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hai Phong City, the city currently has more than 9,000 hectares of lychee orchards, of which more than one-third are early-ripening varieties. This year, due to reduced production, the purchase price of lychees at the orchards ranges from 70,000 to 100,000 VND/kg, an increase of 3-4 times compared to the previous season.
In 2026, the city's total lychee production is estimated to reach 47,000 - 50,000 tons. To enhance the product's value, localities are stepping up trade promotion, connecting consumption with supermarkets, shopping malls, and industrial zones, while also developing eco -tourism in orchards associated with the lychee harvest season.
In Bac Ninh, the consumption of lychees has reached approximately 35,000 tons, even though the harvest is only in its early stages. Notably, lychee prices this year have remained high, at times reaching 80,000-90,000 VND/kg, significantly higher than in previous years.
Efforts are currently underway to boost lychee exports to many demanding markets.
According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Houston (USA), in early June 2026, the first two shipments of fresh lychees from Vietnam (approximately 2 tons) were exported from Vietnam to Houston, Texas (USA).
Thanks to air transport, this specialty product has retained its distinctive color, flavor, and quality, quickly gaining attention from supermarkets, Asian markets, and consumers across the United States.
