The warm weather on New Year's Eve added to the festive atmosphere. From around 9 PM, many families brought their young children to the city center to join the crowds eagerly awaiting the sacred moment.

Accompanied by his wife and two young children, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Vinh (from Phan Thiet ward) said that this year his family proactively went early to avoid the crowds. “The two children have been looking forward to this for a whole week. Last year we arrived late and had to stand far away, so the children couldn't see clearly. This year, the whole family decided to go from 9 pm to get a good spot. Seeing the children so excited, my wife and I are happy too,” Mr. Vinh shared with a radiant smile.

At exactly midnight on February 17th (the first day of the Lunar New Year), the sky over the Ca Ty River area (Phan Thiet ward, Lam Dong province, formerly part of Binh Thuan province) suddenly lit up as the first bursts of fireworks simultaneously soared into the sky. From both banks of the river, thousands of eyes turned towards the sky, welcoming the sacred moment that marked the beginning of the new year.

Locals and tourists gathered in large numbers around the Phan Thiet Water Tower, Tran Hung Dao Bridge, Duc Thanh Bridge, and especially towards Le Hong Phong Bridge – where the fireworks display was set up. The atmosphere seemed to quiet down for the first few seconds before erupting in cheers as clusters of fireworks exploded against the night sky.

In about 15 minutes, 150 fireworks displays were seamlessly deployed, creating a dazzling spectacle. Layers of light unfolded, bursting forth and then fading, reflecting on the water's surface, transforming the river into a giant, shimmering mirror. The combination of the river setting and the firing point on the bridge created an impressive visual effect, leaving viewers in awe.

Witnessing the New Year's fireworks display, local resident Ms. Hoang Thi Lan Anh expressed: "Even though it's no longer the provincial capital, the ward still manages to organize such a well-organized and beautiful program, which is truly commendable. The atmosphere tonight deeply moved me. I believe and hope that in the new year, our hometown will continue to develop, and the lives of the people will become more stable and prosperous."

During the countdown to the New Year, many people took the opportunity to capture beautiful images with their phones, preserving memorable moments with family and friends.

Mr. Nguyen Nam Son (Phan Thiet ward) shared: “Celebrating the New Year in such a special atmosphere, I feel very moved. Enjoying the art program while watching the dazzling fireworks was truly a memorable moment. The fireworks display gave us a feeling of peace and good fortune. This was also a time for everyone to exchange best wishes, hoping for a new year filled with many aspirations.”
Watching the New Year's Eve fireworks display live for the first time, Ms. Nguyen Mai Xuan (Ham Thang ward) couldn't hide her excitement: "I'm very excited and moved. Entering the new year 2026, I hope my hometown will continue to develop, and the material and spiritual lives of the people will improve. I also hope my loved ones will always be healthy, safe, and happy."
The fireworks display concluded amidst the jubilation of thousands of people. As the last rays of light faded from the sky, a new year officially began, a year of expectations, new beginnings, and faith in the development and prosperity of the homeland.
