Hundreds of households in the entire village went to the Dong well in Yen Xa village every day to fetch water. On hot summer afternoons, the children in the neighborhood would gather at the village well to draw water for bathing and playing. On moonlit nights, young men and women would meet up to carry water. Many couples in the neighborhood became husband and wife thanks to meeting, getting acquainted, and dating by the Yen Xa village well."

Originating from the shared use of a common water source, village wells have for generations served as a connecting thread, uniting villagers and creating a close-knit community. These wells have become deeply ingrained in the spiritual life of the villages, becoming an indispensable part of every rural community. Currently, in many localities in Nghe An province, the preservation and promotion of the historical value of these village wells are being prioritized by the people and authorities.
