Major General Nguyen Van Han, a member of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee and Director of the Provincial Police, stated that plans and measures to ensure election security and safety have been developed and implemented comprehensively. The Provincial Police have completed the compilation, review, and printing of voter lists; and have been ranked first nationwide in terms of implementation progress by the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order ( Ministry of Public Security ). In addition, voter data has been cross-checked with the VNeID system to ensure accuracy and consistency. Plans to ensure political security, order, and social safety throughout the election process have been meticulously developed and are ready for deployment in all situations.
In Long Xuyen ward, with its dense population, security and order maintenance work has been implemented comprehensively. The ward has 60 polling stations in 48 hamlets, with over 121,000 voters participating in the election. Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Chinh - Head of Long Xuyen Ward Police - informed: “We have proactively coordinated with the ward's military forces and local security forces to organize continuous patrols 24/7 before, during, and after the election. At night, functional forces intensified control to promptly detect and handle violations of the law, especially the situation of young people gathering and driving at high speeds, causing a disruption to public order.”
In addition, fire prevention and control efforts have also been emphasized. The ward police have intensified propaganda and guidance for residents on safe electricity use, discouraging the burning of garbage and dry grass in strong winds; maintaining the operation of neighborhood fire safety groups, organizing fire drills in narrow alleys, and helping residents become proficient in using basic fire-fighting equipment.
Alongside the police force, military units in the province are seriously implementing their combat readiness duties to protect the election. Major General Nguyen Van Ngành - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, said that the unit has thoroughly understood and strictly implemented the directives of the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 9 regarding combat readiness and ensuring election security and safety. Agencies and units maintain 100% personnel on duty from the command center to the grassroots level; organize patrol and control forces in key areas; and establish a forward command post to promptly handle situations during the election.
At each polling station, militia forces are deployed in coordination with the police and other relevant forces to maintain security and order. The commune-level military command is always ready to mobilize mobile militia forces when necessary, while proactively monitoring the local situation, especially in industrial zones, areas with large ethnic minority and Catholic populations, border areas, islands, and areas with potential for complex situations.
Along the border, border guards strictly maintain their duties in managing and protecting territorial sovereignty; they strengthen patrols and controls to prevent illegal entry and exit, and combat violations of border management regulations and illegal fishing. At the same time, they closely monitor the local situation and the situation on the opposite side to promptly detect and address any emerging issues.
Thanks to the synchronized implementation of professional measures, the political security, order, and social safety situation in the province has remained basically stable. The consultation and nomination of candidates for the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels have been carried out in accordance with regulations; there have been no negative public opinions or complex incidents related to the elections. In addition, the protection of state secrets and cybersecurity have been strengthened; positive information about the elections has been widely disseminated online, contributing to consolidating public confidence.
The proactive and responsible actions of the armed forces are contributing to maintaining peace so that election day – a great festival for the entire nation – can take place safely, democratically, and with full confidence.
